We don't get too political on our blog but check out our pictures as we build our house on a little piece of heaven outside of Snoomish Washington. (The only politics will be when we go up against the enviro-whackos who will be complaining that our house is too close to their salmon stream all the while they trespass on my land)

we update every few days so check back often, and if you like it leave comments.

Is there something special about this house?? ...

It's mine!

I meant does it have a unique design?

Enjoyed your blog. Have to learn how to do one. I am so behind in the tech world. Although I love tech stuff too. Our local liberal rag has a Thursday tech section and my friend always saves me that section of the paper. The only section I will read. Enjoy a beautiful area of the US.

What a beautiful setting! I am soooo jealous! The area is just gorgeous, and so are your children and the dog! I remember watching our home being built, such a thrill with each new part that was completed. We videoed each stage from the dirt until completion. Congrats, and thanks for sharing your happiness with us!

The special part is that we are building it ourselves. Pounding the nails, roofing, siding, plumbing, everything!

And the location is really special.

What kind of plumbing pipe have you decided to use?

Have you left room for HVAC ducts?

Cool. Maybe you can render a 3d image for us... blender3d is free... I am barely able to make a cone into something resembling a space ship. I just downloaded it last night. Some of the images made with it are awesome.

Gallery

apparently games and animation are also made with it... but then again, I just started and have no clue.

I think we are using CPVC. It is kind of cream color (as opposed to the white or the black.

We are doing in-floor radiant heat. I do not plan to have heat ducts. I don't really like forced air heat. Here in Washington the winters are so mild many people just have electric baseboard heat.

I may run into problems with the county over my plan to use a fairly ordinary water-heater as my primary source of heat.

It is an adventure and we are only about 1/3 of the way through.

For the 3-D pictures I used Punch Home Designer 3D or something like that. I used that software to save me thousands of dollars by making estimates of what some of the "kit" homes cost. that is when we decided to build it ourselves from scratch.
