A Florida traveler was caught trying to smuggle two turtles through airport security by hiding them in her bra — prompting authorities to beg fliers not to stash things in “weird places.”
The woman, who was not identified, was stopped at a Miami International Airport checkpoint with the reptiles wrapped in gauze and plastic, according to photos shared by the Transportation Security Administration on Facebook on Thursday.
One of the turtles tragically died, but the surviving one was handed over to the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife, officials said. “Friends, please – and we cannot emphasize this enough – stop hiding animals in weird places on your body and then trying to sneak them through airport security,” the TSA wrote in the social-media post.

“She’s got a snapper!”
Sorry…
“I’m a mountain lion. Rawr!”
She’s innocent... someone told her they were tittles... only later did she find outmthey were turtles
Turtles are amphibians, not reptiles.
“I’m from Bedrock and those are my padded bra.” (Flintstone reference)
Were they snapping turtles?
I don’t get the idea of trying to import foreign animals when the domestic ones are almost as good.
turtles are reptiles
One of the turtles tragically died. I am not sure if that is the correct grammar to say that, tragically, one turtle died. It was tragic that one turtle died but was its death tragic? We don’t really know. It might have died of suffocation which is quite sad but easy to predict if it was wrapped in plastic. What idiot would wrap a live animal in plastic?
So they are.
Are the snakes ok??
these days, she may have a one eye snake. You never know any more.
Brings to mind a very old edition of Mad Magazine, where a character says ever since he saw the Steve McQueen vehicle Papillon, he hides his valuables in a very special place. In Pulp Fiction, Christopher Walken hands a watch to an orphaned 7-year-old character Bruce Willis later portrays as a adult, telling him that his deceased POW dad hid it in the one place his guards wouldn’t search.
This is one of those where you go straight from the title to the comments.
