Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to try and fight back against former President Donald Trump and beat allegations he wears lifts and high heels that masquerade as boots.
Trump and other opponents have put out conspiracy theories that the candidate uses lifts in his boots to look taller.
Speaking to Eric Bolling Thursday, DeSantis took on the claims again and tried to hit back at Trump for his lack of attendance at Republican Primary debates.
'This is no time for foot fetishes, we've got serious problems in the country,' DeSantis said, before explaining the myriad problems with the country under current President Joe Biden.
'I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have been focusing on things like footwear. I'll tell you this: if Donald Trump can summon the balls to show up to debate, I'll wear a boot on my head!'
Trump has yet to respond to the offer, having most recently posted about DeSantis on Truth Social earlier today, joking that Fox News has 'given up' on the Florida governor and moved on to 'Birdbrain' Nikki Haley.
The former president has refused to show up at the first two GOP debates and shows no signs of attending Friday's third debate, having previously cited his lead in the polls.
Trump is at 43 percent among likely primary voters in new Des Moines Register poll.
He has amassed a 27-point lead over his closest rivals with, DeSantis at 16 per cent, as is former South Carolina Gov. Haley – although she arrived there after a 10-point gain from August.

He should’ve focused on policy instead of trying to pretend he is not short. What a buffoon. Nobody cares how tall he is. But to witness how insecure he is, is a tell-tale sign.

desantis is making the same mistake that Rubio made: he’s allowing his political opponents to frame the issues and establish the memes, playing THEIR game, emphasizing THEIR memes, instead of ignoring THEIR BS and instead using his precious air time to emphasize HIS issues, what HE stands for, what HE is going to do, AND attacking the Democrat fascists and their abysmal results ... of course, if there’s no there there, then being yourself is pretty tough to do ...

But that’s NOT the worst thing that can be said about Ron D. That’s his problem. He’s dropped down to the low teens/high single digits. And that was all before any of the boot stuff ever came out. You want other reasons for why a President DeSantis is a bad idea? Just browse through the threads about him from the last 4 months and you’ll find plenty of them.
Remember when “DeSantis is the adult in the room. He’s not going to dignify Trump’s attacks by trading insults with him.”? DeSantis had a good PR team and they spent the last 3 years building up a false image of who he is. DeSantis is a career politician and he’s doing what career politicians do. Career politicians re-invent themselves when things aren’t working for them.
And Golden Showers shows up a day late and a dollar short, ad usual.
I spent a significant amount of time visiting friends and family in The Villages, FL in late 2020 and 2021 where I was sure that I would come down with COVID as a result but it never happened. Nobody I know there knew of anyone who died or was about to die from COVID and The Villages is all 55+ and very dense in areas that Villagers go to for having fun and shopping, appointments, etc., except for the golf courses and clubhouses where “social distancing” was a no-brainer to maintain. They sometimes wore masks and there were the various Jab stations in there but overall, I think Florida didn’t put itself through what some other states’ Governors put their populations through. I don’t know about S. Dakota’s COVID “back-story” but my bet is that there aren’t nearly as many people 55 and older living in population centers there compared to places like The Villages in Florida.
Golden Weasel for months has been trying to put lipstick on this pig. And they’ll continue doing so until this backstabbing poser shuts down his loser campaign.
