Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to try and fight back against former President Donald Trump and beat allegations he wears lifts and high heels that masquerade as boots.
Trump and other opponents have put out conspiracy theories that the candidate uses lifts in his boots to look taller.
Speaking to Eric Bolling Thursday, DeSantis took on the claims again and tried to hit back at Trump for his lack of attendance at Republican Primary debates.
'This is no time for foot fetishes, we've got serious problems in the country,' DeSantis said, before explaining the myriad problems with the country under current President Joe Biden.
'I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have been focusing on things like footwear. I'll tell you this: if Donald Trump can summon the balls to show up to debate, I'll wear a boot on my head!'
Trump has yet to respond to the offer, having most recently posted about DeSantis on Truth Social earlier today, joking that Fox News has 'given up' on the Florida governor and moved on to 'Birdbrain' Nikki Haley.
The former president has refused to show up at the first two GOP debates and shows no signs of attending Friday's third debate, having previously cited his lead in the polls.
Trump is at 43 percent among likely primary voters in new Des Moines Register poll.
He has amassed a 27-point lead over his closest rivals with, DeSantis at 16 per cent, as is former South Carolina Gov. Haley – although she arrived there after a 10-point gain from August.

This whole shoe thing is dumb, and it reflects poorly on the Trump campaign that this the “issue” that they’re harping on.
DeSantis has been a great governor and would make a great President. If Trump doesn’t get the nomination (for whatever reason — illness, for example), I hope it’s DeSantis who is waiting in the wings, rather than one of the other candidates. Why is he being hobbled by this silly made-up “controversy”?
It may not even be true that he’s wearing lifts — and it’s not something that matters anyway.
This is no way to defeat the Dems in 2024.
He can dish it out, but he can’t take it. Gee Ron, why don’t you autograph the lifts you use in your cowboy boots, auction them off to the highest bidder, and send the money to Ukraine, since you support continued financing of that proxy war.
But he is a loser. Some people are just too stupid to know when it's time to quit. The guy is getting a taxpayer-funded paycheck, because he had the Republican-run State Legislature change the law so he didn't have to resign to run for President. He not only benefited himself personally and politically, but monetarily as well.
No, he's done far worse to himself. He's opened his big mouth, and stuck his foot in it. Claiming Trump is privileged, yet it was DeSantis who got the State Legislature to change the law so he didn't have to resign to run. He also got them to change the Sunshine Laws so no one will have access to any information about his past and future trips, meetings, etc. It's all a big secret now. He just said tonight that he would continue funding the U.S. proxy war with Ukraine, has said that a President should have had military experience to be President, and just today, with his little pea-brain legal mind, says that the GOP won't nominate Trump if he is convicted. How does he know that unless he's already been in talks with them? Looking out for himself once again no doubt. He's a shallow self-serving prig. The jokes about his shoes are a comedy intermission for all the stupid comment disasters he's already made.

Perhaps one of the best things history will remember Trump for is his unmasking politicians. Ron made his choices and the mask is now off. He is no different than any of his Uni Party brethren.
You and Ron along with Mitch Mcconnell, Romney, the Bushes, et all can rub your hands in glee thinking Biden and Obamas law fare tactics will rid DC of Trump. It may. I do so want to agree with you. But the ugly reality of the “real” Ron DeSantis is showing through. Perhaps it’s a good thing that we are seeing it now, to save us from making a horrible mistake in 2028. I’m afraid the ONLY way I could go back to liking him is for him to back out of the campaign, back Trump, go home to Florida who needs his continued leadership right now, and try to show us that he loves America more than he loves himself,
