A leading doctor who threw a backyard party for his sister's birthday in Queens claims their group was 'hosed' with water by a 'racist' white neighbor during a noise dispute
Dr Yves Duroseau, who was the first US physician to receive the covid vaccine, and more than a dozen of his guests allege that neighbor Marcus Rosebrock, violated their civil rights by attacking the group.
Rosebrock, a German national, denies the allegations and 'rejects any characterization that he is racist', according to a statement from his lawyer.
Guests included Rigo Morales, a record executive who has worked with Eminem and 50 Cent, along with lawyers and banking bosses. The suit said many of those present were friends Rosevony met at Fordham Law School.
They enjoyed a nine-course al fresco dinner cooked by TV chef Vanessa Cantave, who won the Bravo reality cooking competition Rocco's Dinner Party in 2011.
At 9.50pm when the party was 'winding down', the female defendant known as Jane Doe 'entered the Duroseau home uninvited with a large German Shepherd and demanded that the music playing in the backyard be turned down', according to the lawsuit.
Dr Duroseau told the woman the party would be ending soon and requested that she leave his property, before he returned to his yard to continue socializing.
But soon after, Rosebrock, whose yard neighbors Duroseau's, 'took his water hose and began water hosing [the guests] in the Duroseau's backyard to get them to disperse', according to the suit.
The suit said the incident created 'a scene reminiscent of 1960s Birmingham, Alabama, when white law enforcement officers used fire hoses to douse, assault and batter African Americans

Why can’t we all just get along?
Ditto, I rarely use mine on the road, and then I have a manual valve so I can bring it on slowly to not startle people.
Only once have I opened it full on immediately to get the attention of a guy who was about to unknowingly commit suicide by pulling out right in front of me without looking.
He stopped, with a look of sheer terror on his face.
My theory is that the noise helps to fill the empty canyon between their ears.
Same here... Only in true dire emergency situations. Folks lock up instantly when it goes off.
Perhaps he could have offered to send her to a nice hotel or spa? 3 days is a long time to have to listen to garbage.
You can be snarky all you want. People can choose to live in a fully urbanized place “that never sleeps”, and enjoy all the noise and mayhem possible 24/7. No problem there.
But the headline described the complaint location as a “plush NYC Suburb”, implying it is exactly where residents pay extra to escape the behavioral norms of the inner city. I don’t know, but can only guess, that the “white” couple was dismayed that “prominent black doctor” was enacting inner city behavior next door, depriving them of the right of quiet enjoyment. They should not have to flee to avoid barbarians.
I believe you. Many years ago, I lived in a city neighborhood. One day (IIRC, it was late afternoon), two police officers knocked on my apartment door and said a neighbor complained that my TV was too loud. Did the police ever come out when my car was broken into? Oh, no, they had no time for that. But, they came out over my TV volume. lol
I never minded those kinds of noises myself, and I like the sound of large parties. Wherever I’ve lived, I’ve always felt comfortable and safe whenever a neighbor had a loud party, even late into the night, as long as it sounded like a happy event with laughing and talking and music. Those kinds of sounds never kept me awake or bothered me at all.
But, in that city neighborhood many years ago, there was one night when a noise drove me crazy, and I tried to take matters into my own hands. A store alarm went off, blaring into my bedroom window the whole night. You couldn’t escape the sound anywhere in the apartment. Pure torture. I couldn’t sleep or hear myself think, and I had 12 hours of school and work the next day. I called 911 multiple times. Finally, 911 said the store owner refused to come out and shut it off, and they said the police could do nothing about it. By that time, it was about 3AM, and I was willing to go to jail. Unfortunately, not even hitting that alarm with a brick would stop it. I like the sound of big, happy parties, but I can’t tolerate a burglar alarm for hours and hours.
OMG, that’s a horrible story!
Believe me, Forest Hills is NOT a plush NYC suburb. It’s a rather high end neighborhood in Queens, but it’s not all that suburban, esp. for Queens, lots of apartment buildings, etc.
And it is known for having a lot of well-heeled black residents. Not as much as St. Albans, but a goodly number.
This guy had a private chef catering a party, wouldn’t call that “inner city behavior”.
But, you know, it’s all Long Island, and white Long Islanders are well known for their racism, that’s another fact.
Forest Hill Gardens is mostly single family homes, including many mansions. It’s pretty close to suburban, albeit still in the city limits.
Dr Yves Duroseau, a black man with a French name is hosed down in a racist attack by a German national. Ain't America grand? Diversity, it's our strength.
It’s all still pretty jammed in there. Hubby and I were just there, and he’s from right around there. Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, they are all nice enough, but not “lush suburbs “
A neighborhood within Forest Hills, called Forest Hills Garden, does have an HOA. It's where the nicer houses are, and where the wealthier people live.

Already read it, thanks. In my permanent “Keepers” bookcase.
Right? I'm surprised more people don't know that.
