DEAR ABBY: I’m a 32-year-old woman. My 20s were spent in a serious long-term relationship. It was a lot of firsts for me. After we split, I took a couple of years to sow my wild oats and find out who I am as an individual.
I’m now looking for something more than “friends with benefits.” However, the last few men I’ve met and gone on dates with, as wholesome as they seemed on dating sites (which have been my main source of meeting men), were really just looking for hookups. I want to find a life partner.
I have been chatting with a potentially great guy I met online, and we have a date scheduled. But I’m nervous that when we meet that he’ll expect more than a date. I’m over that. Like I said, I want an actual relationship.

Therein lies her problem, and it's pretty much insurmountable. She's established what she is and you can't un-ring a bell. Her market value is established now, and it's not very high. Sure, she can lie to any guy that she meets and tell him that she hasn't been the town bicycle, but unless he's a simpleton he'll eventually figure it out. She can find a guy who doesn't care but any guy that doesn't care about that is going to be a low character horndog himself and will eventually cheat on her, that is unless he's a completely spineless simp in which case she won't respect him.
She's a well used Chevrolet Impala and she wants a guy who is looking for a new Porsche to pick her off the lot. It ain't happening.
I dunno about using the church as a quality dating service. That just doesn’t seem right to me. By all means, find a nice church, attend every Sunday, join in with other Church activities......but do it to get saved! She needs to repent of her wild days and recognize the need to be saved from her sin. Look for God first, and the future will take care of itself.

In case you’ve been away for a while, the gays have pretty much taken over most of the mainstream denominations. So going to a church picnic to find a mate is not going to increase your chances of finding a lasting relationship.
Maybe she should start by repenting of her sins and following Christ. If she is truly in God’s will, then God will put her in the path of the man He has chosen for her.

A twenty year old girl can have her pick of guys 20-30. If she looks at guys 25-30, then she’s likely to find someone ready to think about marriage and having a stable job.
A 32 year old woman is looking at a dating pool of 32-45 guys, and they either got burned in divorce or have decided that married life is not for them.

Its not gonna be easy. All of your youth is gone. You should probably be looking at guys in their early to mid 40s. The guys your age who have obtained grad degrees or worked their way up the career ladder will be looking for girls 10 years younger than you are.
There are no dots dating site. They only have arranged marriage sites.

You’d never want me. In the 70’s I was a 20-something and an old woman’ just wanted’ to run her hand through my thick shoulder-length hair. I shouda’ said “I’d let you do much more than that”. If I could do it all over I would have dyed my hair gray and let them all have their way with me. You young guys out there: Hindsight is 20-20.
