A news station happened to be there and caught Plauche's bullet going through Doucet's brain. The judge basically said Plauche wouldn't hurt anyone again, so he gave him a decade of suspended sentence and some community service.

As I alluded to before, every cop, detective, court investigator, bailiff has said “anyone f**ks with my kids, they’re dead”.
How do these guys even get indicted? I’m on that Grand Jury or trail jury, they’re not getting a vote for indictment or guilty from me. I’d buy them a drink for taking care of their family.
Between the ass jawbones and this, they’re gonna have to come up with a new crime:

Maybe voire dire could make all jury members parents or grandparents of a 6 year old.
He was stalking the guy's children to the point of him having a protective order in the past, which apparently had recently lapsed. If you've ever heard the ludicrous decisions in family courts in this country, you would understand. Many, many children are killed or harmed due to utterly stupid judicial orders more favorable to the perp class than the child or domestic partner victim class.
I have my doubts. The guy was freaking 77.
I assure you the sex drive does not disappear with age in all persons. Apparently you think 77-year-olds cannot fondle or molest child victims with their hands, tongues or objects, but they do. Some males are still "able." There is also viagra for the horny old pervs.
It’s a slippery slope to allow this type of killing based on suspicion of potential wrong doing. Where does it end? “Oh I killed that old man because I heard him say he wanted to hurt trans people!”

I agree with the consensus that in the present system, the killing will be deemed wrong. Earlier I posted “not guilty” as a sarcasm because when there’s a mug shot of a woman, male freepers jokingly “determine” guilt or innocence based on her looks. Guess I should have put the sarcasm tag.
Still, if the courts failed to renew the protection order, I do feel that those officials contributed to the dad’s anxiety about his kids. Those recent threats had more to do with his fear than the long-ago accusation against the nasty old man.
When I was young and single, I rented an apartment from an old lady and her husband in their 70s. One day the old guy let himself into my apartment with the master key, and attacked me. I defended myself vigorously, surprised him at how strong and determined and loud I was, and pushed him out and almost down a flight of stairs—the point being that his age was not stopping his intentions or arousal. Anyone who thinks an old guy cannot be a threat to a little girl simply because he is old is very mistaken.
