Sadly, this guy will spend far more time in prison than the insect he exterminated. I would be careful here. Unless I hear more evidence to show this guy was gonna offend, then this is still a murder, and the reason for doing it may be all in the guy's head.
You don't just go and kill people for what you think they might do.

I agree with you about this being a dangerous thing to allow in society, but I don't necessarily agree with you about what should happen to this guy.
If he has good evidence that this guy was going to do something to a child, then yes, I would hope the court would go easy on him, but if he didn't, he should get a severe punishment for doing this.

I have my doubts. The guy was freaking 77. That was one of my thoughts as well. I'm waiting to hear more proof that the dead man was a problem.

You are absolutely correct. I raised an objection to the high-fiving going on and lamented subversion of civil society, but then failed to follow the latter to its logical conclusion- if it was an unjustifiable murder, it needs to be punished as such.
