Twitch influencer Jessica Fernandez issued an apology Tuesday after she went viral for posting a video about a “feral” man at the gym who she claimed was staring at her “like a piece of meat.”
Fernandez published the apology on TwitLonger — an extension of Twitter that allows users to post tweets longer than 140 characters — calling the video “the most serious thing I have ever posted.”
“First of all, I want to apologize sincerely to the man at the gym where this all started. He didn’t do anything wrong to me and I blew our interaction out of proportion,” wrote Fernandez. “I know many people think that I’m only apologizing because I got called out from the video I posted and this is half right.”

Reminds me of women who wear thong bikinis at the pool or beach, and glare at men who dare look at them.
Same deal. They want attention, just specific attention.
If you’re hot and sport camel toe, dudes have no choice…
The man would be well within his to sue her and have her de-platformed for using the platform to commit crimes.
You are the dumb ass. Posting stupid, rude, unintelligent remarks gives the enemy ammunition. Are people like you really going to do anything. From my experience, NO. Lots of mouth noo action. Mass based organizational push back requires time, effort and expense. Loudmouths like you are not willing to give up the time spent watching a football game or the expense of Saturday night bar drinking at a sports bar to organize and fund a peaceful but serious protest operation. Be gone.
His/her post was such white knighting that I thought it was a mocking troll.
Leering is not innocent. It is bad behavior and merits rebuke. This is hard to accept in the current unbuttoned public culture but it is a truth. The lady should have stood her ground.
She was hoping he was checking her out.
Sure as heck not hot.
But was he leering?
Given that he was on camera, he may have simply been looking over there thinking, “Is she filming me? Is she filming ME?”
Even if you’re not hot, and sport camel toe, dudes have no choice. ;)
Yep. The dude probably has no idea he was slandered online.
:)
He didn’t look like a cartoon wolf, with his eyes popping out.
A plague upon all their houses.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
My standard is pretty strict. Many years ago, like 1960, I was at that dump of a beach, Colonial Beach Virginia. I saw , for the first time, a teen girl wearing a bikini. After a minute or two my father simply said.’You looked at the girl, she is pretty. Now look at something else, the river, the sand. That is what a gentleman does and it doesn’t matter what the girl does.’
If that dude knows an attorney he should sue her.
It would go nowhere, but he would get a better result than he saying, in effect, “my bad.”
I use a treadmill that is next to the front door of my gym. I look at everyone coming into the place. But mostly I am staring into space while I listen to my book or podcast.
He will now.
