If you can talk about it so cavalierly, it wasn't that big a deal.
My wife had such brutal treatment as a child that she never speaks of it. She only talks to me about it and that's rarely. Her brothers and sister had to fill me in on the rest. They are all surprised she lived through it all.
This constant fake victimization insults real victims.
