The fastest way to get back to a safe, mask-free life is for everyone to get a Covid-19 vaccine.
But just because you've gotten a shot of protection doesn't mean you should rip off your mask immediately. That could actually set you back and put your friends and family at risk. Here's why you should keep masking up in many cases -- and when it's safe to go mask-free:
You're not fully vaccinated until two weeks after your last dose of vaccine, according the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That means at least two weeks have passed since your second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, or at least two weeks have passed since your single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
So ditching your mask too soon could leave you with little or no protection against getting infected or infecting others. Your friends and family might not be vaccinated yet
Vaccines are great at helping protect you from getting sick with Covid-19. While there's growing evidence suggesting vaccines can also help prevent transmission, the CDC says there's not enough data yet to prove whether vaccinated people could still carry the virus and infect others. So unless your friends and family are also fully vaccinated or at low risk of severe Covid-19, you might put them at risk if you see them without wearing a mask.
What can I do without wearing a mask?
The CDC says fully vaccinated people can:
• Visit other vaccinated people indoors without masks or physical distancing
• Visit indoors with unvaccinated people from a single household without masks or physical distancing, if the unvaccinated people are at low risk for severe disease

I’m NOT vaccinated, and haven’t worn a mask the last 4 weeks while grocery shopping.
Because you must submit.
I would tell cnn to bite me but don lemon or his bromance pal chrissy comb-OH might be interested.
MORE BULLCHIT! I am careful and not stupid. You have your mask on...then I’m safe, right?
How many dirty looks did you get?
None so far. I think people are afraid to say anything. And I’m certainly no threatening looking character where people should be afraid.
4 weeks? I haven’t worn a mask in 9 months.
I have to wear a mask for work, but as soon as I’m outside, it comes off.

“You’ve got to follow the science!!”
Atta boy, EvilCapitalist!
Keep that friggin’ mask off
You are vaccinated. You have had 2 doses and 3 weeks have passed. You actually once had the coronavirus before being vaccinated. You had the symptoms of coronavirus and a positive test for coronavirus and you have fully recovered. You have virtually no chance to get coronavirus, and if you can’t get it, you can’t spread it therefore there is no threat to you or anyone you come in contact with. So it is absolutely CRITICAL that you keep wearing a mask and social distancing yourself for at least the next 6 months and probably until this time next year and maybe even longer. We don’t fully understand coronavirus and we have to act out of an abundance of caution because we don’t have enough information to be sure that it is absolutely safe. We have to be sure that nobody ever gets the coronavirus because it is the most dangerous disease ever encountered in human history and way before that even l. And because we know you can be made to believe just about anything and even if you don’t believe it you can be intimidated into acting as if you believe.
In Louisiana I think it’s about a 50/50 split when it comes to masks. Half do, and half don’t, wear them in public.
FUCNN.
It’s not easy. I’m no where near retirement age yet, and I don’t need some vindictive “Karen” getting me fired from my job.
“Here’s why.”
Not caring for alchemy and sorcery, I did not read further.
I have not worn a mask since the beginning of this fiasco.
My wife brought the ‘Rona home from her school where other staff came to work sick and spread it all over while wearing masks.
She was sick Christmas Eve for 5 days. I was sick Christmas Day for 3 days. Yeah I didn’t feel great... but I have felt worse from a hard night of drinking.
So, yes, I got the Rona, but not from being in a store or other places. I got it from masked stupidity

I have decided to not wear the mask in the grocery store. If anyone says anything to me, I’m going to pretend like I didn’t hear them. Totally ignore and keep moving with my cart.
