A devoted Army National Guard soldier killed herself after she reported being sexually assaulted on the job — but the military branch did nothing to help, according to her mom.
“To think that that’s what took her life — that’s what broke her,” Debbie Robinson, the mother of officer Morgan Robinson, told CBS Evening News.
“They wanted her body. And they took her soul.”

Just plain WRONG to have this done by fellow soldiers.
I read this book and saw the movie:

Sexually assaulted multiple times by her fellow soldiers, including a supervisor, and including a gang-rape? And in more than one country? That’s pretty surprising. Something very odd about this.
The girl is probably white...the rapists are black...
the military authorities gave her a hard time when she reported the rapes...treated her as though she was a criminal...

With the anti-male bias in the military, any HINT of impropriety would be enough to kill careers, get jail time, dishonorable discharge, etc.

If it happened more than once they knew they would get away with it...and the military authorities gave them carte blanche to do it again...

Military units should be segregated by gender. That’s what we did doing WW2. It worked then. Why change now?
I agree. The military has always had a long history of CYA when it comes to sexual assaults. Knowing this, some young girl, right out of high school, is not a good fit in our military.

No records kept about any rape, sexual abuse etc...
A few local women were ex military, one is a HS classmate. Sexual harrasment was non stop but never raped. Both said it was pretty brutal at times. Both are good looking.
If I had a daughter not sure I would want her to go in enlisted.
