Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez blasted Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen as "a liar" and appeared to compare President Trump with King Herod, who wanted Jesus killed after his birth.
Nielsen was testifying on border policy before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday when Gutierrez used his allotted time to rip into her and the president.
He said it is ironic that Republicans would hold the hearing during the Christmas season, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.
Gutierrez, a Chicago Democrat, said that it is "repugnant and astonishing" that during the holiday season, migrant family separation would be a topic of importance to the GOP.
Gutierrez said that, at the time of Jesus Christ's birth, King Herod became outraged and ordered all children under two to be murdered.
"Thank God there wasn't a wall that stopped [Jesus, Mary and Joseph] from seeking refuge in Egypt. Thank God that wall wasn't there," he stormed.
"And, thank God [the Trump] administration [wasn't there] or He too would have perished on the 28th -- on the Day of Innocence when Herod ordered the murder[s]."...

Says the beaner congresscreap.
Nope. Not a shred of conflict of intrest there.
Does anybody know what conflict of interest means? Does anybody even give a damn anymore?
Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez is an embarrassment to everyone except himself. He should be shilling three-card monte on the sidewalk outside the bus station.
The flight to Egypt was when Jesus was about 2 years of age. Herod demanded all (firstborn?) male children 2 years and under to be put to death. Many people confuse this with Joseph and Mary (pregnant with Jesus)going to Bethlehem for the required census.
But, even so, the argument that the family were illegal immigrants/migrants is not valid. Joseph and Mary would have had money (gold from one of the Magi) and Joseph was a carpenter and would have been able to establish himself as a tradesman who could earn his way. He wasn’t going to get an EBT card or WIC/SNAP for baby Jesus.
What a liar ...he shows just how ignorant he is of the Holy Bible that he misquotes in an attempt to back his lies...
The LORD Jesus Christ said of Himself...”The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:17, 18 (NIV)
This is a lot of angst over something that won’t stop anybody from coming into America illegally.
Reminisce of Hussein O who stated that Joseph & Mary were refugees when Jesus was born.
I see this as Gutierrez admitting he does not believe we have, or should have, a border.
He’s stating we should let people come in illegally, and to hell with all those who apply and wait.
He’s in favor of unrestricted, unchecked immigration into the country, and a border free to cross for terrorists, child molesters, drug traffickers, smugglers, those who violate certain federal firearm laws (real assault weapons, Gutierrez?), thieves, those infected with deadly, communicable diseases and sex slavers.
In other words, a democrat, truly spoken.
And thank God that Mary, an unmarried woman, did not choose to abort our Savior.
Trump isn’t a Democrat right now. He wouldn’t have tried to have Jesus killed.
Since we’re going all biblical here, I guess we should ask how L.G.’s little Mary-Joseph-Jesus Leftist fantasy tale compare with the Democrat’s support for abortion and the actual slaughter of 66 million American Children since Roe vs. Wade?
Just thought I’d ask.
Ummmm....
I believe it was the Democrats who booed God at their last two Presidential nomination conventions.
There is a wall on the Egyptian border now. Egyptians don’t want the philistines invading.
>>Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez<<
It’s astounding how garbage like this puke manages to scam enough voters to get him elected.
Looo-eeees is beyond “unhinged” ...
Read the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, Chapter 2.
Then revisit your comments.
I do not want “migrant family separation” I want illegal families to be gathered up and deported together. I am all for family togetherness.
yes that is what I explained to the other poster. If he read the bible he would know God had apple for Jesus and dying as small child was not part of it. Plenty of walled cities in the ancient world
This isn’t then, and they aren’t the Savior.
I despise this Gutierrez guy and am glad he is gone next month. I do still have a problem that my congress critter was working with him on “comprehensive” immigration reform a few years ago.
