Please join our national and worldwide movement to support Black businesses and Black people financially by going out of your way on Wednesdays to spend your money in the Black community. The goal is to support our own businesses every day, but especially on Wednesday! On Black Wednesdays, lets try not to spend one red cent outside of the Black Family Circle. And, almost as important, let the Black business person youre supporting know that you support Buy Black Wednesdays.
On Black Friday, we literally trample over each other to give our money to others and build up their communities at the expense of our own. Let us run to each other and build our own communities on Black Wednesday! There is no reason we should be a poor Trillion Dollar Nation, which is about how much African Americans make annually. The problem is we integrate our dollars too swiftly when we would be better off segregating them; i.e., keeping it in the family!
Why Wednesday? Because Wednesday is Hump Day. Also because Wednesday is the fourth day of the week, and Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics) is the fourth principle of Kwanzaa. So you can also call this Sikujamaa or Cooperative Economics Day.
And in order to include everybody, you can also call it African Reparations Day a day to give reparations to ourselves Give Back to Black Day! but also a day that allows and encourages any non-Africans with a sense of human decency, who realize that Africa is the heart, birthplace and breadbasket of the world and she and her people have been disproportionately disenfranchised, taken advantage of and abused, to give back to the Motherland and her people and help level the worlds playing field for all.
Also, as you may know, economics is one of the major issues in the Black community. Most Black male/female relationships are broken up or strained because of money problems. Most Black on Black crime and homicide is related to money.
The reason why we have so little clout in the world community is because of lack of unity and funds. Black artists who could uplift the whole community often languish in an obscure purgatory of poverty and desperation. Africans around the world suffer and die because of lack of money.
And we Africans in America who have money rarely keep it in our communities long enough to change our impact on the world and our living conditions. So let us begin to change all that through this coming financial revolution called Black Wednesday and INTERNATIONAL Buy Black Wednesdays!
Celebrate this new International Black holiday and Black History Month every week on this Black History Day: Black Wednesday! Do it in association with Paradises Summer of 2012 Cultural Worlds Fair in Oakland.

I don't care what race or color the owner is.
No Wednesday should be buy Irish and screw the english,Irish killers!!
In before the “what if someone made a ‘buy from white people day’ post”
“day that allows and encourages any non-Africans with a sense of human decency, who realize that Africa is the heart, birthplace and breadbasket of the world and she and her people have been disproportionately disenfranchised”
As a “non-African” I take offense to the assertion that I am guilty, according to the writer, of not having any “human decency” if I do not recognize Africa as the “heart” of the world. I am also wondering how a continent with millions of starving people is the bread basket of the world. If that is true, I mean if it is indeed the bread basket, then why are so many Africans in dire need of bread? Oh, well, what can one expect from a San Francisco newspaper?
Yet another plea from black liberals to judge them by the color of their skin. Sheesh.
They’re 100% pure racists.
On one hand it certainly is racist but, look at it this way, maybe its the beginning of a movement to stop being victims and help themselves like other ethnic minorities have over the years rather than looking for handouts from the country at large.
I think most ethnicities in this country have practiced this until they have become assimilated. If it improves their lot in life and relieves the taxpayer of a burden I say; bravo!
Of course none of that can possibly play any role in the problems encountered by American blacks... It's all because of racism and suppression...
Where are the Sharptons, Jacksons, and even Obamas voices in the context of these facts? What are their solutions? More money given to failing school systems? More money for family planning clinics? Do they really think those are the solutions? To think that blacks can't lift themselves out of this through their own talents and efforts is, in my view, the worse kind of racism, and it is people like Maxine Waters, and those that populate the ‘black caucus’ who are most guilty of that type of racism.
Color doesn't define talent or success in life. Conversely, if you take any child, of any color, and rob them of family support, and the inner strength that comes from believing in yourself and knowing that you are loved and supported, you can be well assured of a high percentage of underachievement and unhappiness.
I’d love to see the inner city rebuild its commercial base with local private money rather than my tax funds. It will also build a sense of ownership and pride.
The biggest problem in the Black community from my prospective is the victim mentality and the race hustlers milking the system. I like the idea of them solving their problems their way, with their ingenuity and innovation. The urban Black community has tremendous resourcefulness and potential that remains largely untapped.
Cheers!
So much for the MLK Dream.
I hope they also create a non-black Tuesday for my tax dollars that get over funneled into these same black communites.
My g-g grandfather was part of the Union Army that freed the slaves......I WANT MY CUT!
Welfare checks come on Friday......the best day would be Saturday IMHO.
I don’t support racism, and this is racism at its worst.
It should not matter what the color of the business owners.
After I read Kwanzaa and African Reparations Day, I quit. I was willing to show my support for Black businesses but not for those reasons.
My great Uncles died wearing Union Blue at Gettysburg—and they were abolitionists! One was sent to jail for his beliefs that all men were equal. I feel no guilt. My white guilt was purchased with their blood.
Yeah but that name Paradise Free Jahlove is pushing it.
