So yeah, I'm getting sick and tired of how people are bashing Sarah Palin over her endorsement of McCain.
We all know why she's doing it and she has my complete respect and support.
So, anyway, conservatives are fighting amongst each other over this and it really is pathetic! On Sarah's Facebook page, people keep lamenting, whining and moaning over it, and I kept calmly trying to calm them down, but they wouldn't listen. Finally, I lost it and said:
"FOR GOD'S SAKE, PEOPLE, PULL YOURSELVES TOGETHER!!!!! THIS IS NOT HOW A GROUP OF PATRIOTS ACTS!!!!!!!!
SERIOUSLY, DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO BE 100% PERFECT IN YOUR EYES IN ORDER FOR THEM TO BE A VIABLE CANDIDATE???? LAST TIME I CHECKED, NO ONE IS!
SARAH PALIN IS THE BEST CHANCE WE HAVE TO UNSEAT OBAMA AND HIS FASCIST REGIME AND YOU'RE ALL HERE TOO BUSY ARGUING ABOUT ONE ENDORSEMENT!!!!!!!! THAT IS PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!
WE HAVE TO BE 100% UNITED IN ORDER TO DEFEAT THE SOCIALISTS!!!!!!! STOP GETTING INTO STUPID PETTY FIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SARAH ENDORSED MCCAIN! OK, DONE, NEXT ISSUE, PLEASE!!!!!!!"
I'm no military guy, but I do know that in a battle, you need to have a UNITED FRONT and petty arguments like this are dividing the front!
It is obvious that Sarah Palin is the only one who can defeat Obama and that we need to be united around her!
Do I have this right? You want folks to support the person (the only hope for saving the republic) who endorses the quisling McCain who deliberately threw the presidential race to the commie muslim Kenyan.
Interesting.
Nope, no “going along to get along” ....;-)
Arizona is not her state. She should stay the hell out of here unless she is running for President.
.
“Actually, we DON’T know why she’s selling out to the quisling McInsane.”
.
You speak for only yourself and a small handfull of politically naive ankle biters here.
Addressing the fact that she is the only likely sucessful opposition candidate in the most important presidential election that this country will ever have, one has to give respect to the fact that all of the main power brokers of the party must be coddled, and that is exactly what she is doing.
Stop making us the “party of stupid.”
That doesn’t affect my view on Palin one way or the other. The media will attack any Republican for going against their cult leader Bacrock.
Not everyone, but I'm seeing a lot of the same bot activity I've seen during the Bush years, and the stuff on the left.
1. Palin is the right person for the job because of A, B, C. That's not irrational.
2. Palin is the next Reagan/Lincoln is very irrational. Palin is the only hope is very irrational.
That's the difference.
“Stop making us the party of stupid.”
Coddling the enemy - including the internal enemy - is what makes the GOP the Stupid Party.

I dont want perfection. Stop that silly mantra. Sarah Palin isnt perfect either...I know that comes as a shock to some.
I just want to know what she REALLY thinks, and she just wont say. Im talking about John McCain...and anyone who supports him without question is well.....questionable.

Catsrus : “ I answered your questions and you dont want to give Sarah any credit. So stuff your posts where the sun doesnt shine and that means up your butt!”
You are trashing a long time, respected FReeper PUNK!
Her post to you was pleasant enough, and this is how you treat her??
“I answered your questions and you dont want to give Sarah any credit. So stuff your posts where the sun doesnt shine and that means up your butt!”
I’ll keep this when it comes time to have you ZOTTED, and trust me on this, you will be zotted.
I think she is doing great galvanizing the people and certainly has a following if she runs. I am not convinced she will as yet. And she isn’t exactly saying either. But I’d like to see her remain in politics either way. She is very good for the country.
It was stated on the threads at one time..”If not Palin than who”....I don’t see another revealed yet who would get my vote over Palin...
Some here on FR do go rather overboard on Palin...but I tend to see this as their passion and emotional zest for her, even if at times it gets thick and even silly.
How high her hair sits or not on her head is not significant..or if her jeans are dated or not. Who really cares...but I think those who get into that are young and they are in that mode of appearances. I’ve seen alot of vanity posts on various threads...I generally move past them.
All this drama on FR is for naught.

“ I am beginning to feel that the problems are much, much bigger than Sarah. We MUST get someone in who can tackle them.”
.
Pal, if it ain’t Sarah, we’re otta luck!
She is by far the best political gift we’ve been given in the history of the Republican party. - She understands all the pertinant issues, of which many find you unaware, I’m sure. She also uniquely has the courage to tackle them unabashedly.
If there were anyone else out there, their name would be in lights already, and one that could fill her shoes is beyond unlikely.
.
I mean we can even use the help of rinos and independents. The more the merrier. That’s all I meant.
WHy? It goes with forming a political base and in preparation to run for office generally. No candidate goes it alone but must have connections to some degree on both sides of the isle...basically it’s just politics and what one does. Many candidates will at times do two-steps before they waltz into office.
“She understands all the pertinant issues, of which many find you unaware, Im sure. “
You base this on what? Her support of McCain?
” She also uniquely has the courage to tackle them unabashedly.”
You base this on what? Resigning halfway through her term as governor? Unique courage?
This blind adherence to a politician is not becoming of an American.
You are very reasonable :)
I saw SP on Hannity last Monday and she told him that :”Republicans SHOULD get third party challenges to keep them honest and elect conservatives”(.my recollection of te details) . Hannity almost has a (polite) cow and said “Bu...t we really want Republicans to win don’t we ..?” but she wouldnt back off. I really liked it. Time will tell
.
Michelle Bachman is just a legislator, without a scrap of executive experience. No Chance!

Palin was the only thing that allowed many of us to feel respectable after voting for a presidential candidate that we all knew would govern as a liberal.
That was then, this is now.
Palin still should enjoy a good deal of positive opinion among conservatives - but realigning with McCain damaged her standing enough to legitimize dissent.
McCain certainly should be isolated. He needs to be thoroughly drubbed in the primary, left in the dust of conservative backlash and then left laying there as an example of where the old republican elite will wind up if they try for another ersatz campaign in the 2008 model.
PS: The couple of times I've seen Sara Palin doing her Fox News thing did NOT help her image in the least, she hasn't helped herself much. On a positive note, Fox isn't doing much for Huckabee either.
McCain's numbers were dropping like a rock in late 2009, so he asked Palin to help him out, in return for him becoming more conservative so he wouldn't be such an embarassment to Republicans everywhere.
Shortly after securing her promise to campaign (meaning the very next day or so), McCain's wife and daughter go very, very public with their campaign to put the GOP under total GAY control (Romney is also onboard with this agenda).
Palin is stuck with either (1) breaking a promise to McCain, and getting all the media flak for that, or (2) helping McCain campaign as she promised, and getting all the flak from those conservatives who think basketball is a complex strategy game.
Winning a presidential election is going to take a lot of money, a lot of support, a lot of organization, and the unity of several divergent factions of Republicans and independents, and maybe even some disenchanted Democrats. This does take some complex strategy.
McCain is likely to lose his primary, with or without her help. She is working on much more than McCain's campaign, and McCain is providing a national distraction while some other stuff gets done. Sarah herself has said several times, "We should welcome these contested primaries." If the meaning of this has to be explained over and over, then the people of this country are probably too stupid to survive.
That's not what she wrote here:
A desire to serve defines McCain
