Watching the video of Sarah Palins appearance with William Shatner on the Tonight Show with Conan OBrien, the one word that came to mind was style. Yet, there was more to it than that.
After all, she entered the arena of late night television, a stage that has excoriated her routinely the enemy camp as Chris Matthews might say. Mrs. Palin's has been scoffed at before by Mr. OBrien. The show has featured William Shatner mocking Mrs. Palins tweets by reading them as dramatic recitations.
Still, Mrs. Palin handled her appearance with the aplomb of Beyonce at the MTV Video Music Awards. She exuded the charm of Sophia Loren; the dignity of a Katharine Hepburn.
The blend of these qualities, with the feistiness and intellect of Margaret Thatcher and the forty-something feminine beauty of a Demi Moore, is what makes Mrs. Palin so dangerous to the political establishments of both parties.
She has a certain manner, an allure about her that has endeared her to a wide swath of the American public in a short period of time. She is upsetting a lot of apple carts and the entrenched politicos resent it. They have directed their fire at her.
Indeed, Mrs. Palin has weathered a torrent of vitriol. While her primary critics are liberal Democrats, the bien-pensants of both parties fear and loathe her.
This was evinced recently by Michael Petrillis hortatory article in the Wall Street Journal. Petrillis haughty piece titled, Whole Foods Republicans, had this to say about Mrs. Palin, there's Sarah Palin, whose entire brand is anti-intellectual.
Mr. Petrillis remarks about Mrs. Palins supporters echoed what liberals have said about military personnel in Iraq (Senator John Kerry, D-Mass.: you get stuck in Iraq) and the audience of the Limbaugh show.

I picked this one if they hold on...I despise Dallas but they are fighting for their playoff lives and the Saints only fighting for an undefeated season.
Out.
My closing quote by an unmentionable curb slug,
“Can’t we all just ....(snivel)....get along”
Later, all.
I think everybody’s temper is bad now. We have a fascist pig in the White House. Obama is using our tax dollars to buy the votes for Obama Care.He is saving 500 million to buy the votes for next year. If that doesn’t make you want to grab you gun, nothing will.
There is nothing to refute. It’s in black and white.
I’ll give you a hint. When you run for elective office, you start building a national organization by assisting Republicans across the country.
You’ll note that Arizona, Ohio, and South Carolina are the states that the candidates live in. Those are key Primary and General Election states.
If she announces, she’ll be required to win votes across 50 states. That’s how you build support for your own candidacy.
Then why didn't she give money to DeMint, who is an actual conservative up for re-election in 2010, instead of McCain's sniveling lap dog?
I just sent SarahPAC another donation. I noted that I do not wish to support McCain nor Graham. She's also getting plenty of time from me. She's a winning candidate, and I want to help her get there. I am very pro-America.
Your rejection of Sarah Palin has been duly noted, repeatedly. Now, wanna start a new conversation, start a new thread.
Tough times to be a Republican.
Even tougher times to be a conservative.
I know some of you guys don’t like Palin. But keep your minds open and listen to her. She is a real conservative and see who is the best conservative when the Primary begins and ends. FR’s founder likes her alot, that should at least let you give her a fair shot over the next three years....Note: She hasn’t even announced yet.
Maybe it will be her, maybe it will not.
She’s my frontrunner and after reluctantly voting for McCain after Palin came on board...I have vowed I will not vote for a RINO or non conservative for President in 2012.
“Then why didn’t she give money to DeMint, who is an actual conservative up for re-election in 2010, instead of McCain’s sniveling lap dog?”
It may be because DeMint will run for President and will be her conservative competition. It may be because his seat may not be in jeopardy.
...and relax...stay tuned...I’d bet on DeMint getting Palin money too prior to the election.
“I know some of you guys dont like Palin. But keep your minds open and listen to her.”
For the record, I do NOT dislike Palin. If you go back a few months, you will find me boosting and defending her. If she indeed quits bumping McCain, and giving money to RINO enemies, I might feel differently about it. It is way too early to worry about candidates anyway.
It may also be simply because DeMint is in the Romney camp and Palin needs a presence in SC. DeMint was a Romney supporter in 2008 and Romney has been in SC in the last couple of months raising money for DeMint. Romney must feel he can still count on him.
Sarah made the contribution to Graham in Sept at least partly in response to pressure from the FEC to hit the 5-candidate limit. She also contributed to Michelle Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn, Bob McDonnell and Hatch at the same time.
Under FEC pressure, Palin's PAC doles out cash
That said, I'd like to see Palin cultivate DeMint and I suspect she will if she has a chance with the guy. Romney may have him sewed up so who knows.
Thanks for the informative article.
I guess DeMint is choosing political expediency over a conservative by hopping on the bandwagon of Romney, instead of Palin.
That’s very discouraging for a conservative to choose the RINO vs. Palin for 2012. A big letdown by DeMint.
It also explains exactly why DeMint wasn’t given any money. Since DeMint has chosen Romney, Palin will need a SouthCarolina politico to help her in an early GOP Primary state.
I hereby demand that the entire stoopid posse denounce DeMint and forever cross them off his list as a candidate. He has gone too far, he has cast himself into the darkness. *Gnashing of teeth and the bolt of Tash falling from above!*
And for those who should know better....../sarcasm. It is good to gloat though.....Good night all.
Darn! If that is not a look of admiration, I don’t know what is. She is just plain proud to be meeting this man. Compare her attitude with Boxer’s.
I share your concern over governance by E.O. The question is how much longer do we last with the left trying to block good governance at every turn?
This health care bill must be shot down A.S.A.P. If we can’t get it done by wholesome means, what do you suggest?
As for department cutting, once they are gone it would take a while to rebuild them.
If you’ve got a better idea, I’m are ears.
Make that all ears... :-)
You seem to have no problem with your first choice for the GOP nomination endorsing RINOs.

Well then who is your choice if not Palin? Who is left?
DeMint.
McClintock.

South Carolina Republican Sen. DeMint Endorses Romney for 2008 President
A lot of perfectly good people screwed up and endorsed RINOs in 2008.
That can be dealt with.
But endorsing RINOs in the aftermath of the 2008 election is just asking for trouble.
For those who are interested some video clips at link of Jim endorsing Mitt for 2008. Don’t know if he praises Romneycare as haven’t chugged through all the footage.

The Romeny endosresment letter is also there to read in full - does mention Romneycare.
