Only months after a new state law effectively banned "mom" and "dad" from California schools, a total of 600,000 students could follow because of what has been described as the "repudiation" of 2,000 years of Christian morality, according to leaders of a new campaign assembling education alternatives.
The campaign is called California Exodus, and is being headed by Ron Gleason, pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Yorba Linda, who said while the country excels in social, economic, scientific and political accomplishments, it "gets low grades on the education of its children."
The issue is the state legislature's adoption of Senate Bill 777, which requires only positive portrayals of homosexual, bisexual, transgender and other alternative lifestyle choices.
"First, the law allowed public schools to voluntarily promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. Then, the law required public schools to accept homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual teachers as role models for impressionable children. Now, the law has been changed to effectively require the positive portrayal of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to six million children in California government-controlled schools," said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families and one of those who originally called for an abandonment of public schools.
"To rescue their children, loving parents need to find an alternative to government schools, and every church needs to make it a priority to help parents be in charge of their children's education again," he said.
He has condemned public school districts as "no longer a safe emotional environment for children" under the new law, signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, that will introduce children as young as kindergarten to the homosexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

That's true, and it would be good if more people knew how inexpensive a good education can be.
The school establishment in CA is very nervous about this.
Well, that's great!
But...we were seriously considering it.
The more folks who withdraw their children from the "Welfare Schools" the better our country will be.
You forgot the 4th R theyve been teaching since the 60s - relativism.(cinives)

Axiom: Education is NEVER religiously neutral. NEVER! there is NEVER a religious vacuum. NEVER!
When Christian, Christian belief, and Judeo Christian philosophy is removed from education something else is sucked into its place. At the moment, it is atheistic, Marxist-based, relativistic, Secular Humanist **religious*** belief.
That is what is being preached to our nation’s children by the government priests and priestess ( mis-named “teachers”)
Abeka video school, BJUP satellite, and AOP Switched On Schoolhouse can all relieve the teaching chores while doing an excellent job...
IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT; YOU DID NOT DO WRONG, THEY DID.

One trick used by homosexuals:
They encourage children to experiment with homosexuality. ( Hey! How can you know if you don’t try it?!)
Then if a child does “try” it, they say, “Once a homosexual, always a homosexual!”
Wow! What a Catch 22!
Unless you were going to take the "running and reading" approach - "Here's your library card. What, you're tired of reading? Then start pounding the pavement!" - that's probably wise.
Its not up to pastors to make that decision they are merely a part of the body like everyone else. People need to organize homeschooling groups within their churches..
Wow! I never thought of this!
You are likely absolutely correct!
Homosexuals have enormous power in the media, and likely within the organizations of their sponsors.
Rush, Hannity, and OReilly,,,The Sell-outs! How true!
Its not up to pastors to make that decision they are merely a part of the body like everyone else. People need to organize homeschooling groups within their churches..(N3WB13)
Its time for the churches that profess to love children now put up or shut up and provide an opportunity to educate children in a place where Jesus would be welcome (kittymyrib )

There are several reasons ministers do not step up to organize schools:
The first and foremost reason is that they are not about to offend the many teachers, school employees, and those who work for business that directly or indirectly get money from the schools. (For example: Even my dentist depends on school dental insurance for a living.)
If ministers are not opening schools for this reason, they I call them "Sell-Outs!" and "hypocrites"!
Another reason is that too many ministers are incapable of thinking "outside" the box. In their mind "school" means a brick and mortar institution. This means tons and tons of regulations, zoning, health and fire codes, employee withholding taxes, disability insurances,,etc. Believe me! I sympathize with these guys. They are already busy enough!
So...I am in sympathy with Stefanbatory and N3WBI3. If the pastors of these churches are fully occupied with spreading the gospels that is just about all they have time to do, and is ultimately their most important job.
N3WBI3, we should educate our ministers on the existence of virtual schools, homeschool cooperatives, mini-schools, one room school houses, dame schools,,,,etc. All of which would mean little in the way of administration by the minister. BUT,,,The minister SHOULD step up and take the lead. Isn't that the whole meaning of the word "pastor"?
If pastors still refuse to lead, then individual Christians must do this themselves, as N3WBI3 has suggested.
As a graduate of Villanova University I urge all parents to be careful about choosing a Catholic school. My university was full to the brim with Marxist Liberation Theologists!
So it's bad for someone to say some teachers are fighting back, and trying to provide a quality conservative education? Or are you saying:
a.) All teachers are rotten if they work in a government school?
b.) There's no hope for government schools, and we should all just give up?
Which is it? Are all states like Califronia, or are you just being negative?
Yup...same for the Boy Scouts, because they don’t embrace the homosexual agenda being rammed down their throats, THEY are a hate-group also!
Don’t ya just love those that argue there’s no evidence of Christian persecution going on right before their very eyes in this country?
There’s no hope for government schools, and we should all just give up?
I know that I’ve heard Rush talk about this.
I also know that he stated he was not happy with any of the candidates until it was clear that it was between Romney and McCain. I can understand why he decided to support Romney given those choices.
This can not be said often enough. "NO school can be different!:
