Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

"Do you know what a sample is?" LoL, obviously you do not know what a RANDOM sample is. If you did you would understand why the poll here means little. At least the MSM pollsters pretend they are using random sampling techniques.

If a GOP candidate wants to become POTUS, he/she better have an established record that is consistent with limited govt, anti-gun control, pro-life, anti-illegal amnesty and anti-special rights for homos.

If a candidate was 100% in support of the CwA, but was pro-choice and pro-gay rights, you wouldn't support him, correct?

If so, I believe it's clear you will have a problem ever winning another election.

The CwA gave the Rs this majority. Abandon it, and you abandon majority status.

So the orange stands for the taking of political positions consistent with the Republican Party Platform. Gotcha. The sickly light greenish color means you take sides with the Democratic Party platform. Everything else is self-explanatory.

LOL. Either you're color blind or your monitor needs fixed. The "orange" color you mention is known as "Tomato" in the HTML world. A shade of red. The "sickly light greenish" color is known as "powderblue". It is a light shade of blue.

Maybe it's your glasses. :)

I know what a "random" sample is and I didn't claim that the FR poll was one.

I also didn't claim, without a shred of evidence to support it, that MOST FReepers hadn't picked a candidate yet.

LOL! That's part of the reason we lost the majority. The President and the Republican Congress betrayed the social conservative base of the Republican Party and completely forgot about the Contract with America.

I only posed it to you because you had said that if Rudy was for everything in the CWA except was pro-gay and anti-gun he would be classified liberal by many.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean you!

I meant that site, using the term 'Libertarian', I don't know what they mean by it.

And I was pointing out that the Social c's here would label such a person as a 'Liberal'. In fact, just did.

Rudy campaigned here in Ohio for Ken Blackwell, who is as strong a social conservative as you will ever see. This was at a time when Ken's campaign was not going so well and he ended up losing by over 20%. Yet Rudy still showed up. That kind of support for fellow party members who are not necessarily aligned with you perfectly and are not in a winning position is what make you popular in your own party.

One other point. Republicans running in 2008 want a good candidate at the top of the ticket who is a team player. Who do you think they will support -- Rudy or McCain?

:-D

That's the point *I* was making, thank you.

In 06, the Congress pandered to the Social Cs -- who still turned out in numbers to vote for Rs. But they abandoned the CwA conservatives -- and lost their majority.

Now, you folks are pulling the party even *further* away from the CwA.

Your list is dominated by Gays and Abortion. Not one mention anywhere of a CwA issue.

The 'gun' issue does have legs, and Rudy will have to make it clear he won't grab guns to get elected. Which, I'm pretty certain, he will do.

I like that they interviewed Singletary, too!

Can you imagine T.O. pulling any of that crap with Singletary as coach?
