Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

I have no idea what a moderate Libertarian is?

Hi:

I have no faith in the labels that get thrown around. "Libertarian" is one of those . . . if you mean less govt, that's one thing. If you mean "Libertarian Party" with it's non-initiation of force, etc, that's another.

Rudy has done a good job in being an Executive in the past. I think that's an indication he'd do a good job at being Prez. I'm hiring a good manager and executive. That person doesn't have to "think exactly as I do", they just have to have good decision making and management skills.

Rudy has been doing that ALL over the country and campaigned as hard for the party as ANYONE as well as working for individual conservatives. He was greeted with tremendous enthusiasm everywhere.

It is this wide appeal which has the Rudyphobes so panicked. They realize that should he get the nomination and win their days of Threat and Sulk are over and their influence drops precipitously.

If I had to bet a six-pack of Shiner, I'd bet on it being Rudy v. Hilly in the Election. With Rudy winning pretty handily.

Then again, I thought the Cowboys had a shot at the playoffs this year . . . :-(

>>>>>Do you see the problem?

I see you ignoring the issues of the debate. The CWA was crystal clear. I knew where you were attempting to go with this line of replies. Sorry, I don't buy it.

To add some context to this debate. Social conservatives are the majority of the Republican Party. If a GOP candidate wants to become POTUS, he/she better have an established record that is consistent with limited govt, anti-gun control, pro-life, anti-illegal amnesty and anti-special rights for homos. These are huge issues. So is the WOT. The WOT is the #1 issue. There are Republican candidates who support the WOT and who support social and fiscal conservatism. Rudy doesn't support the GOP platform in that regard. I don't buy what Rudy is selling. Period.

What a LIE. Defending against an Indian attack is hardly the same as genocide. But Abe-haters don't care about the truth.

Spiff and Spam??? I know I know Spiff that was a bad joke!

Actually Bubba could have used that in the Oval Office -- Spic and Span, the "Big" Job Cleaner, would have taken care of that stain on the blue dress. (Not going to change the work "Big" -- no, I'm not going to do it -- my mother Freeps here!)

Social conservatives are the majority of the Republican Party.

Not in every state.

I wasn't throwing around labels. That came from an impartial website that checks the records on all the issues and gives ratings for anyone in elected office.

They list information on all partys.

I only posed it to you because you had said that if Rudy was for everything in the CWA except was pro-gay and anti-gun he would be classified liberal by many. I'm not sure that would be the case.

I keep asking myself why. It's almost like you're scared of something happening, but I can't figure out what. [See #922 for my theory on why.]

I'm not even sure it's just Rudy; I think it might be anybody that got the nod that they don't like.

That is great!!! Thanks Spiff. Color coordinated so FReepers and Lurkers will have an easier time of finding Rudy`s liberalism in all those critical issues important to conservatives. So the orange stands for the taking of political positions consistent with the Republican Party Platform. Gotcha. The sickly light greenish color means you take sides with the Democratic Party platform. Everything else is self-explanatory.

I like it. Good stuff.
