Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.
Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.
"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

We sure did! Still cannot believe what a louzy job she did in 2006! Just glad I didn't have any Senators up for reelection.
I understand that, I was responding to a post in which you said the front runners in 2000 never changed and it was too late for anyone to make a major move at this point.
I don't subscribe to that view. As a matter of fact, the polls at this point are largely a name recognition contest, nothing more.
"You don't come from behind in today's environment and win. The political savvy on this thread is missing on how things work in the real world."
You mean the real world where John Kerry had 4% in December 2003 (a month out from the first caucus in Iowa) and won the democrat's primary?
If you want to crown Giuliani the nominee now, you may be in for a shock when the candidate is elected at the convention.
Should we sing Kumbaya now?
We're not doing as bad as some think

Sounds good to me! I don't want to see her ever near anything to do with elections again.
Just because he is the founder doesn't mean he is always right or we can't have our own opinions.
People here aren't allowed to openly support leftist candidates like Hillary R. Clinton, so why is supporting her exact republican equal any better?
Tell him that!
I am not annointing anyone -- just saying why I support Rudy who has not even declared yet.
I supported George Allen before he got defeated.
One difference between me and you from what I can tell is that whoever is the nominee I will roll up my sleeves and work to defeat Hillary or whoever from the DemocRATs. I will even work to elect John McCain if he is the winner which speaks volumes coming from me.
I am also not going around threads trashing other candidates -- let them stand on their own merit and let people on here see what they stand for -- will tell you this that any Republican saying they will overturn Roe v. Wade as President doesn't have a clue and are pandering. President has no authority to tell SCOTUS what to do or to require a SCOTUS nominee to state they will vote to overturn because if confirmed that nominee would have to sit out any ruling on Roe v. Wade.
Delusional.
One "social issue" that is of equal importance to the war on terror is the 2nd Amendment, which Rudy wishes to dissolve.
If they outlaw and start seizing handguns and semi-auto rifles, as they did in Australia, England, Scotland, Canada and New Zealand, you can kiss our freedoms goodbye, as the 2nd Amendment truly is "the reset button" of our nation.

I know for myself there are some Republicans that I could never, ever, under any circumstances whatsoever, vote for...McCain being the prime example.
Rudy...I don't know. If it came down to Rudy or Hitliary I would be torn asunder in my despair, but may vote "R" anyway, although I doubt it.

Slavery was at one time a "constitutional right," until the Dred Scott decision, and alchohol was at one point banned, also another "constitutional" decision.
Would you have defended slavery as vehemently as you do abortion?
Abortion IS unconstitutional, the supremem court just hasn't realized it yet.
Someday, please God, they will overrule Roe v. Wade.

Hah hah, funny!
Yet cogent!

NOT allowing a gun-grabbing, baby-killing, liberal northeastern inner-city RINO lawyer to ascend to the highest office in the land.
Just read this at The Corner at NRO:
Rudys Star Power [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
A friend of mine was at a fundraiser for Rudy Giuliani in Los Angeles last night. His walkaway thought: [Rudy] might have a tough time in the primary but he will crush in the general.
Said friend says of last night: I have to tell you the man is very impressive. When he talks about the war on terror he does so more clearly than anyone I have heard including the President. He doesn't bash the President ever and this was LA where he could really get away with it.
Rudy did an immigration bit that was to the right of everyone else except maybe Tancredo. He talked about immigration in terms of national security. He said we needed to revamp our entire system so that we can get good people. He also said that if the twelve million already here expected to get any type of citizenship they would have to prove that they could read, write, and speak English.
The fundraiser was sponsored by Bill Simon (who worked with Rudy in the U.S. Attorneys office). My friend, who is the rare pro-life, Hollywood hawk, left wondering if he could support Rudy if it came to that. We all know where Rudy is on abortion but my question is what does he think of Judges Roberts and Alito? If he says that he would appoint judges of like mind then I think he can skate on the abortion issue because it does come down to the judges. It was Hollywood though so no one asked about any social issues.
