It is reported that Senator Lott has a list of 10 names of GOP senators who have elected to stand with the democrats, instead of supporting our own WAR TIME, GOP POTUS.
Brownback;
Coleman;
Lugar?;
Snow;
Collins;
Hagel;
and likely
Voinovich;
Smith;
Two have not yet been named (outed).
.
Republican Sens. George Voinovich of Ohio and John Warner of Virginia also might be persuaded. Warner said he supports the Iraq Study Group recommendations, which strongly cautioned against an increase in troops unless advocated by military commanders.
His office heard from me this morning! I was not amused at his betrayal of our troops.
Yessirree.... absolutely true. But the thread was set up specifically to target GOPers who have made dissenting statements to the change in Iraq policy.
You summed it up well, leadpenny.
Agreed. You need a heavy coat of teflon if you're not providing an absolute echo.
Of course he didn't get the message! Remember we're supposed to vote for them anyway like good little republicans!
God forbid that they would do in office what we elected them to do...
Thank you for your comments, but I believe if you will read the post to which I was responding, you will find I was directing my comments to the subject he had chosen to address! :)
Thanks for the ping. Have called both my Senators and told them I appreciated their supporting the President.
hmmmmmm,
Aren't senators supposed to represent their constituents?
so isn't it possible that the majority of voters (in the states these senators represent) don't agree with the plan currently on the table?
Or, has it become SOP for elected officials to represent the party leadership instead of the people???
With a couple of exceptions of guys who just want to get noticed because they think somebody besides their mothers and wives would vote for them for President, most of these people are from liberal blue states. It may be a back-home ploy more than a real Senate action.
What were his parents thinking!!! Norman Bertram!
How would it be possible for these Senators to conclude that a "majority of voters" don't agree with the plan currently on the table? The plan was just announced last night.
These Senators are pure and simple cowards.
Voinivich is DEFINITELY not supporting President Bush on this. I heard him say so earlier today.
Anyone committing or stating sedition is a traitor. And I called the poster, who started a post with "Call me a traitor, but......." a traitor. And yes, coward is what seditious people also are.
Thanks! :-)
The same rules apply to you as to everyone else, dear...
What was with the phony "MERRY CHRISTMAS"? And WHY am I not permitted to reply to you with "BOO"?
Okay, I will explain. The Merry Christmas was a hot link to the latest posting of guidelines for civil discourse on FR.
