WASHINGTON -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event.
Thousands of tickets an estimated 16,000 last year are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
National Park Service officials said Wednesday that children of all ages may attend as long as there is at least one child 7 years old or younger, and no more than two adults per group.
First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend.

The sad thing is that the ultimate result is going to be the Egg Roll being cancelled altogether.
They will not be happy until the last public event at the White House has been eliminated and everything is by invitation only. Why can't people just give it a rest from time to time?
I try. Seriously, they can't turn them away, unless they are not in line in time to get one of the tickets. Just grin and bear it. The president and First Lady have been doing that for 5.5 years now.
If they have to bring child 7 or younger, I doubt the `Village People' will show up.
I don't have a problem with homosexuals playing house, as long as it's not a meretricious relationship and they aren't `poofs'.
I hate poofing.
We want our children to have access to the same great American traditions that other children do, and we can think of nothing better than doing that at the White House egg roll,
They don't have acces to traditions that other children have access to? Says who? No, this is a political statement.....and using your kids to make a political statement is the lowest of low.
Politicizing a children's event. How sickening.
I have no idea .. but I sure wish they's knock it off
Is that "100,000 rowdy nuts" 50,000 gays or is that 100,000 gays with "200,000 rowdy nuts"?
*shudder*
I guess that would make it a win-win for the Libs...
"We don't want to be 'in your face', we just want to be accepted as normal. So until we are accepted as normal, we're going to be in your face."
This is about the children. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE who they're parents sleep with? Why punish the children, it's a freakin Easter Egg Hunt.
It is no longer necessary to ask, they carry megaphones, now.
The problem here is not that they will or won't be issued tickets to the event.
The issue is that they want to politicize it, and would like nothing better than to see it cancelled altogether.
They may say "Oh, we aren't politicizing it..." but on that day, when the entire area is filled with television crews, interviewing homosexual "families", then it is politicized, stops being an innocent and sweet experience of pre-adolescent children and toddlers, and becomes a Homosexual-Rights campaign.
Most people could not care less if two men or two women show up with a child. Nobody is going to say "What are THEY doing here....are they homosexuals?" But it is going to be an "in your face event", I will bet.
Better hope Rosie O'Donut is not in that crowd. She (and her armed body-guard) will mow down anyone who gets in her way!
First-come-first-come? I always thought it was First-come-first-served.
And you're ridiculous.
What are they supposed to do, put out a sign "No gays allowed"?
FR is turning into bigot-central.
Where can I get off this bus?
You've been watching way too much Ellen Degeneres & Rosi O'Donnell!!
"This is so disgusting.
I'm so disappointed in the Bushes."
What would you like them to do instead?
I'm so disappointed in the Bushes.
They can't very well say "Gays are excluded or only married parents of the opposite sex are welcome"
