WASHINGTON -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event.
Thousands of tickets an estimated 16,000 last year are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
National Park Service officials said Wednesday that children of all ages may attend as long as there is at least one child 7 years old or younger, and no more than two adults per group.
First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend.

So now gay people are comparable to nazis?
I'm feelin' for ya, ltm. You are digging that hole you're in deeper with every post.
The only angry people I've seen in this whole deal so far are the people on this thread.
If any of these people wear "message" T-shirts than it would appropriate to exclude them..If they wear Multi-colored leis, I don't see where that's a problem.
Only in your mind.
well you know homosexuals are trying to overturn the 1996 DOMA by applying for a spousal green card for a canadian homosexual union....
There's going to be homosexual sex right there on the White House lawn?
The fact these homosexual practitioners are going to EXPLICITLY use children to declare how specific adults achieve sexual gratification in the bedroom is reprehensible.
Oh, I see. They're not actually going to HAVE sex, they're just going to talk about it. Explicitly and graphically. Is that right?
This is about attending and event and USING CHILDREN to declare how an adult associated with a child performs sex acts.
Well, you answered me, since you said, again, that the adults will be declaring how they perform sex acts.
I wonder if Laura knows this is what those gay people are going to be doing? Talking about sex, all the time, explicitly and graphically.
I use to think that too - until I studied the history of "Easter."
Funk and Wagnalls Standard Reference Encyclopedia: EASTRE, Anglo-Saxon name of a Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility to who was dedicated the Eastre monath, corresponding to April.
Colliers Encyclopedia: ISHTAR, the goddess of love and war, was the most important goddess of the Sumero-Akkadian pantheon. Her name in Sumerian is Inanna (LADY of HEAVEN). She was the sister of the Sun god Shamash and the daughter of the moon god Sin. Ishtar was equated with the planet VENUS. Her symbol was a star inscribed in a circle. The Ishtar Festivals were symbolic of ISHTAR as the goddess of love or generation. As the daughter of SIN, the moon god, she was the MOTHER GODDESS who presided over child birth; women, in her honor, sacrificed their VIRGINITY on the feast day or became TEMPLE PROSTITUTES
Watsons Biblical and Archeological Dictionary: Ashtaroth She was also called the Queen of heaven; and sometimes her worship is said to be that of the host of heaven. She was represented in the same manner as Isis, with cows horns on her head, to denote the increase and decrease of the moon. Cicero calls her the fourth VENUS of the Syrians. She is almost always joined with Baal (lord), and is called a god.
Watsons Biblical and Archeological Dictionary: Easter: The English word comes from the Anglo-Saxon Eastre or Estera, a Teutonic goddess to whom sacrifice was offered in April, so the name was transferred to the paschal feast. The word does not properly occur in Scripture, although the King James Version has it in Act_12:4 where it stands for Passover, as it is rightly rendered in the Revised Versions (British and American). ISBE
Easton Bible Dictionary: Easter Originally a Saxon word (Eostre), denoting a goddess of the Saxons, in honor of who sacrifices were offered about the time of the Passover. Hence the name came to be given to the festival of the Resurrection of [Messiah], which occurred at the time of the Passover. In the early English versions this word was incorrectly used as the translation of the Greek pascha (the Passover). When the Authorized Version (1611) was formed, the word Passover was used in all passages in which this word pascha occurred, except in Acts_12:4. In the Revised Version the proper word, Passover, is always used. .
There is no trace of an Easter celebration in the New Testament. The Jewish Christians in the early church continued to celebrate the Passover, regarding [Messiah] as the true paschal lamb.
Over the years differences arose as to the time of the blended Easter / Passover celebration, the Jewish Christians naturally fixing it at the time of the Passover feast which was regulated by the paschal moon and appointed by YAHWEY in the Old Testament. According to this reckoning it began on the evening of the 14th day of the moon of the month of Nissan without regard to the day of the week, while the Gentile Christians identified it with the first day of the week, i.e. the Sunday of the resurrection, irrespective of the day of the month. This latter practice finally prevailed in the church, and those who followed the other reckoning were stigmatized as heretics. But differences arose as to the proper Sunday for the Easter celebration which led to long and bitter controversies. The Council of Nicea, 325 AD, decreed that it should be on Sunday, but did not fix the particular Sunday. It was left to the bishop of Alexandria to determine, since that city was regarded as the authority in astronomical matters and he was to communicate the result of his determination to the other bishops.
This mother goddess worship spread from Babylon to the entire world. It was finally established at Rome and spread throughout all the Roman Empire. And it is now known as the Easter celebration. All its trappings of eggs, bunnies, hot-cross buns, and Sunrise services speak of the pagan fertility rites that took place in her temples long ago! Just as Israel of old succumbed to idolatry, so in the last days Israel (Ephraim) has been guilty of paganism and idolatry!
Why would anyone who loves Jesus want to participate in something as pagan and obscene as Ishtar / Easter? Why would you want this pagan festival to be taught to your children? Why would you want to substitute Easter for the feast Yahweh has given us as all Israel, the Passover?
Did you post this with a straight face?
"Stalwart", Jer, the word is "stalwart".
You know, I know lots of straight guys and a few gay guys.
The straight guys talk about their own sexual gratification a hell of a lot more than the gay guys do.
It is telling that Bill Clinton used to have to filter his crowds.
I've got news for you. I'm a dedicated Bushbot, but Bush screens his crowds a lot more than Clinton did.
Yes. Illegals are, to the pure, every bit as despicable as gay people.
LOL.........I'll be back to you when I diagram that sentence.
The Passover is part of the Old Law. The commemoration of the Last Supper enshrined in the Eucharist, which is the Body and Blood of Jesus, is the New Law.
We no longer wait for the Messiah. He has come, and He has delivered His people from their sins.
He has risen, and is among us. That is Easter, and that is why we celebrate this great feast.
Except that no one had posting bigoted/racist comments.
The articles states the gay parents will identify themselves and their children with t-shirts and necklaces. The reason I say this is sick is because people who choose to define themselves by their choice of sexual gratification should not have children or be allowed to have them. This is because if they see themselves that way it is very likely they will look at their children the same way.
The fact these activists are going to a public event for children and will identify themselves and their children by their choice of sexual gratification is disgraceful. It shows their entire cause as a perverted lie. They should be there as parents, not as homosexuals. How many parents do you know that identify themselves and their kids as 'Studs-and-C*^*s'?
The fact they have chosen to identify themselves being seperate from others based upon sexual orientation at a children's event speaks volumes. Just how are they supposed to be accepted when they're the ones singling themselves out? Geeze, and by such civil criteria.
Here's a clue for you Sinkspur: Those who do not respect a civil society eventually lose its protections.
"Where's your daddy," an innocent child may ask. "I don't have a daddy, I have two mommy's," the other child answers. Or some similar situation.
Sure, a parent could explain away the leis, but they shouldn't have to. This is an in-your-face event where same-sex couples have said they'll use this event to show America who they are.
And no, wearing multi-colored leis is nothing even remotely similar to Christians wearing a cross. The multi-colored leis are being worn to make a political statement in line with what has already been said on the subject. And making a political statement shouldn't happen at this event for children.
To you, for sure. To the President and his wife, they are Americans, and have just as much of a right to be there as you or I would.
Here's a clue for you Sinkspur: Those who do not respect a civil society eventually lose its protections.
You're just itchin' to beat up some gay people aren't you? Maybe you'd like to include me in that group that doesn't deserve the protections of a civil society, too, huh?
The armies of God will be glad to have your voice on their side.
Hello, Sinky. Trying to demoralize the conservative base again, are we?
If you weren't so certain of your own sanctimony, you'd be shocked by some of the comments on this thread.
In what is any of these posters being "sanctimonious"? Would that be a "conservative" sanctimony? Is it to the right of your own upper-middle-class, these-people-are-uneducated-mouth-breathers sanctimony?
Please expound on the sanctimony, and differentiate it, if you will, from opinions strongly held by moral people that most of your business-wing people (more and more of whom seem to be getting indicted) can't hold a candle to for simple honesty and frankness.
They're hateful, not only toward gay people, but toward the President and his wife.
Could you show me a post that is literally, and I mean literally, "hateful" toward George W. Bush and Laura Bush? As opposed, of course, to "critical" or "indignant" or any of the other words that might apply if you weren't in full polemical attack mode yourself.
Then show us a post that compares closely in its semiotics to the kind of expression that is the benchmark of genuine hatefulness, that of the Third Reich toward the Jews of Europe, the Romany gypsies, socialists, Slavs, and other people who were genuine objects of Nazi hatred. There are lots of examples, no doubt. You could cull Stormfront and Europa.com (if it's still there) for more current examples. Show us.
If your conscience permits you to advocate the exclusion of gay people from an event that has always been open to all
Policemen exclude pickpockets from county fairs. Is that a bum rap? Do they have to wait until someone's wallet disappears before they move on Louie the Dip?
If the VVAW, the Million Moms, and Code Pink were coming to the Easter lawn party and announced beforehand that they were going to use their presence to "do politics" -- carrying around signs around their necks, that kind of thing -- would your opinion be any different?
.....and to use it as an occasion for the lowest forms of locker room references and snickering, well, that's your business.
I'm sorry if you don't like locker room references. I'm sure they are career-limiting in the crowd you play......what, squash?.....with at lunchtime, and people ought to be more sensitive. Really, they should.
Okay, everybody, sinkspur is unhappy with locker-room humor and references, so please desist. His ears hurt from the meanness and the billingsgate spirit of it all.
Play nice.
That's what I was wondering.....if Johnny Heinz would show up..
