Except for the First Amendment thing.
McCain uses that as toilet paper.

"Fact: One Hillary Clinton, who has been moving towards being "tough on security", is rallying support to stop the sale of port management services to the UAE. "
Hmmm, maybe Miss Hillary is hoping that "sombody" will fatten her coffers with a donation, to get her to change her mind?

I'm having trouble getting excited about this. These are contracts to do the heavy lifting of running a port, mainly loading and offloading containers. They don't impinge on the role of the Coast Guard, Customs, Immigration, or local LE. The contracts are already held by P & O, a British company. There is no evidence the ports won't be run just as they are, with the same people. If the Administration wants to upgrade security the company would have no means of interfering. If the company isn't efficient, or is lax on security, they'll find their contracts canceled.
BTW, all the major players in this business are foreign companies.

UAE was previously not a great country, but since 9/11 they have become an ally in the war on terror. Don't assume that just because they are arab, they can't be trusted at all. We should verify, and we do verify, but we need allies in the mid east, and can't stab them in the back out of ignorant fears. They still aren't that great of an ali in this WOT as far as I'm concern
I realize what you are saying .. and I realize we are stuck with this stupid port sale .. but I hate it
I don't trust the UAE ..

Me too. So very proud, and in some cases, surprised and disgusted. Dang onyx! I'm not for this deal but I agree about the digust in regards to the disrespect for the Pres. There's no need for it.

I've already scanned right past those very words right here.
Hysteria is the norm at the democrat sites, but we're running on hysteria here and it's digusting. Facts be damned. THAT'S a first.

We will know who to personally thank when a nuke gets smuggled through the Port of Baltimore. Bush can drop his line about protecting America because it obviously isn't a real priority. He must have a bunch of baboons advising him.
To: TheCrusader
The other country was Britain, our staunchest and closest ally in the world. One important fact that seems to have been overlooked here is that the British government did not have any security-related concerns over the acquisition of the British company (P&O Ports) by the UAE-owned firm.

He never explained CFR. He never explained open borders. he never explained Harriet Miers except for The First Lady calling her dissenters sexists.

By the way, does anyone remember the name of the guy who Cheney accidentally shot? Not really, most of us knew it was just an accident so it became a yawner after the second day.
To: Dog Gone
We don't know those things at this forum, but it sure hasn't prevented everyone from hyperventilating Aw come on, that's an American birthright according to the democrats.

" The perfect cover for an Arab muslim terrorist working at port security wearing Western clothing and drinking beer. "Hey, trust me with port security, I'm a bad muslim".
This kind of 'logic' is deadly."
So, you would ban all arab muslims from working at the ports? What about airlines? Truck rentals?
Of course if you do that we would still not be safe. There is still the American-Taliban type to worry about....
