ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) President Bush says the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and he will veto any bill that would stop it.
Au contraire', mon ami: click here
Make up stuff much? I never said that it was Bush's official position - I specifically said the State Department in my post. You are reading things into my posts that aren't there.
Let's go back to the beginning, shall we?
THIS is your statement. THIS is your accusation against "the administration." It is wrong. You were either deliberately or ignorantly accusing the President of a position he DID NOT take.
No more discussion is necessary. You were wrong.
IMO, GW does not need our daily review to get the job done.
Has there been a terrorist attack, of significance, on this country since 9-11?
You either trust President Bush on National security or you do not.
President Bush has a track record on National Security - If you don't like the results, and if you think you are smarter than he is, and that you have the tools and info you need to question his leadership on this issue- then trash away.
I prefer to stand with the President right now.
(I know you're trying really hard to be cute, but you are failing BIG time).
We aren't as dumb as you think we are.
I quoted the State Department statement that did NOT support your accusation. Give it up. You were wrong.
Stop making false accusations.
And I backed it up with a quote from a state department spokesman. Those are two different sentences in the first I refer to the admininstration and in the second an specifically refer to the State Department. Words mean things and I chose my words carefully in those two sentences.
Good bye, Jeff. You were wrong.
(But I'm sure your self esteem is REALLY high. Pat yourself on the back like your teachers told you to).
No, what is predominately spoken in my nation--just like my nation and my family--comes first with me! Apparently, your exalted leader comes first with you...I suppose somewhere down the line is your Constitution and your country?
For your sake, I hope not.
I quoted the State Department statement that did NOT support your accusation.
And I quoted one that did. The one you quoted is a totally different press conference. Governments say lots of different things - do you just believe the ones you want?
Logic isn't your strong suit, I guess....... but thanks for the insight into the irrational netherworld you live in.....
Now excuse me while I do something more useful than trying to discuss things with you..........like clean the toilets.
You clearly only believe what makes the President look bad.........regardless of what he, himself says, or without the preponderance of evidence and the whole picture. You take one piece and ignore everything else. I look at the whole picture, and take an individual component in perspective.
You have exposed yourself, Jeff. Cover up.
It's a cult of personality thing. Many are only interested in following a man rather than an ideology.
Even the best men are falliable and often wrong. Some can't deal with that though as it shakes what they believe in.
Look, if the spokesman that I quoted just made everything up then why hasn't he been fired? Google "Kurtis Cooper" under "news" and see that he has been a State Department spokesman for a long time and has commented on a large variety of issues.
The administration has tried to warm up to the muslims for a long time. That is why Bush keeps referring to Islam as the religion of peace. The initial press briefing that I have quoted many times didn't go over too well and it has been softened since that time.
Honesty and integrity.........PROVEN...........matter to us. Loyalty to a Commander in Chief in a time of war matters to us.
False attacks based on inadequate information, and mass hysteria are offensive to us.
We want the TRUTH, Jeff. Do you??
It requires 'warming up to muslims.' We freed 50,000 people in primarily Muslim countries. What do you want him to say? That they are all evil?? Give me a break.
Besides which, as a Christian, President Bush (and the rest of us who are), know that God loves the people born in Arab countries as much as He loves us. He doesn't hate Muslims like some of you 'purists' do.
The 'religion of peace' is diplospeak, required because of his position as President. If you don't think he knows the nature of Islam, you are dumber than I thought.
It's exactly what is happening here. If Jimmy Carter had taken all of the same steps that Bush has, the Bushbots would be up in arms. In fact, if he had a (D) next to his name, most would be calling for impeachment right now.
Bush isn't a bad guy - in fact he is a pretty good guy, but he isn't a god - he is a man and he is very fallible.
Bush is very much into wealth redistribution yet all he has to do is mention God a few times in a speech and all if forgiven.
Bush is far better than Kerry or Gore, but then again, that isn't saying much. If you want a list of bad policies, I'll be happy to provide it.
Yes! After the brake Rush will take on the Longshoreman. I hope he deals it to the entire maritime unions Red Brigades.
