"Why put the party in greater risk of losing seats in November?"
Isn't that just the $64,000.00 question?

I support Bush too, but If a Nuke takes out one of our major cities, we should BAN both the Democratic and Republican parties forever and vote Libertarian!

Sure is. Weeks like this make me wish I had one.

No, the $64,0000 question is: If you get your wish and the deal falls through, what then?

Sure we are capable of running our own ports, So if Bush had suggested Haliburton, what kind of media response would he have gotten? Now he can let the Congress FORCE Halliburton on him, LOL......

Corzine, a Democrat, cited a "deep, deep feeling that this is the wrong direction for our nation to take."

I will trust the President over his detractors for now.

I'm going to require evidence here. I was opposed to Miers because the evidence tended to prove she would be incompetent on the Supreme Court. In a similar fashion, I would like to weigh some evidence here. If the evidence is there, it ought to be easy to come up with. My own google search persuades me only that this is a straightforward business deal that doesn't change personnel or security measures substantially, if at all. But maybe I'm missing something.
Exactly how does this deal compromise US security? Please be as specific as you can.
To: Clemenza
DP World will only provide some logistics-related services. They won't be "running" the port by any means. I've only heard this via MSM. Regardless, I had no idea that our country would pay any other country to handle our business in the ports. It appears hard enough to keep track of what's coming in. In my mind since the WTC bombing, the ports were what needed to be secured. This contract could provide a weak link.

I read the other day too that this company is the only company that inspects every single shipment sent from their country of origin. Wish I had a link. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,185107,00.html
"DPW would not be responsible for cargo screening, which is performed by the Department of Homeland Security, but the port operator is responsible for securing cargo coming in and out of the port, the port facility itself and the hiring of security personnel."

You are not forced to read anything I write. Some people enjoy my rants. If you are not one of them, you have no need to read them, now do you? Just amazing. Like it's forced down your stupid throat or something. You need a clue.

Well, AmericanDave... some of us conservatives let the neo-cons slime that funny guy from Texas.. remember the one who first talked about the sucking sound?
Then they slimed Buchanan, and took over the pubs. Now, I am emotional at the moment, and a woman, so cut me some slack.
But, I do remember that funny guy from Texas saying soemthing about how dangerous it is to deal with the middle-easterners... something about tents, and how we think we have a deal with them, and then we get the short end of a stick we never even saw?
I am just a lil ol conservative lady, and am completely bewildered by this whole mess. Maybe a good night's sleep will help?
To: Carolinamom
A British company OWNs our ports now, but WE run them. Pretty ironic after the Boston Tea Party. Damn.
