Meet John Bolton...still twisting in the wind. How is Bolton "twisting in the wind". He is still Bush's choice and more than likely be recessed.

President Bush has stood by his nominees. To say otherwise is ridiculous.
Moreover, it is a bit more frustrating when people attack you that are supposedly your allies than it is when people you know are your enemies do so.

And, CLOSE THE DAMN BORDERS! (Not the bookstore.)
Yep, he is expected to do what 42 previous presidents couldn't do and didn't even try to do. Good luck with that.
The last 42 Presidents tried to close the borders?

The last 42 Presidents tried to close the borders? That was my point had your knee not jerked your post button. The borders have always been "open"and GW is not going to do what it would effectively take to do so. If he did he would be impeached and rightfully so.

Amen. No, we won't sit down and shut up, not even for the President Of The United States. We won't sacrifice our conservative beliefs for the sake of expediency. Mr. President, you listen to us the base: during the past two elections, you mentioned that your ideal choice of a Supreme Court Justice, if you had the chance to name one, would be in the mold of Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. We merely ask that you keep your word, Mr. President. Its not too much to ask. We wonder if you want to help build a big conservative movement in our country and you must wonder what your legacy is going to be and how you will be viewed by history. This your chance to establish it and to win the undying gratitude of your country. Please don't squander it. Thanks for understanding how we all feel about this. From Laura Ingraham's base. > rant off

My thoughts exactly----Laura right now has NOTHING to lose by expressing her TRUE thoughts and feelings, completely raw and unvarnished. Dynamite!
I'm going to bed. So I will not be around for any replies. That makes the following questions rhetorical: I "axe" these questions in all honesty: 1.)Is the President incapable of making a mistake? 2.)Is he perfect in every way? 3.)Can anyone think of
one area of intense disagreement they have with the President? 4.)Is he a.)one or b.)two steps below the Son of God? 5.)Why is anyone that is not happy with the President's job performance a troll, plant, DUmbass, etc? 6.) Can you tell the differnce between a hate-filled, mentally diseased Liberal and a Conservative that is not happy with the Administration
for entirely different reasons? 7.)Is it against the rules to be angry with the Administration and voice his/her opinion on this forum? Or is it just impossible to do so without the hysterical accusations?
Don't reply to me. This is a private introspective mental exercise for those of you who need it. Apparently there are a few of you out there. If I find any replies to this post in the morning, I will respond to you on this thread and in Freepmail with the word "douche", so you've been warned. Just think about what I asked.

If Bush should go for other than a true conservative SCOTUS nomineeIf, if, if. The President has done nothing to indicate he would nominate anyone but a conservative. His judicial nominees have been excellent, and there's no reason to anticipate a change.

Well, gee, are you urging that we wait and see who he appoints to the Supreme Court before we start making noise about this? What if he did nominate Gonzales, which evidence suggests might well happen? Wouldn't it them be too late for us to make our views known? No, I didn't say we should wait to let the President know that we want the best and most honorable strict constructionists on the Supreme Court. Of course, it's only my opinion but making an overly emotional and disrespectful declaration is far less impressive than a firm and steady petition for well-considered nominees.
Laura is one of my favorite people to listen to, especially on this subject since she's worked at the Supreme Court. She seems to have fallen into the panic trap, which I've heard here and there. But what's the point in being angry when the President is defending a friend as a friend and not necessarily as a nominee?

I was surprised to hear this put this way from Laura but to blame it on those external personal factors you are citing is really a hoot. HYSTERICAL in fact, oh that's so 19th century.
To: willyboyishere
And having said that, it still really doesn't sound like Laura:if the purported subject ("tone it down") relates to Bush's words on the nomination of whomever, it seems like a willful misreading of what Bush most probably meant by that caution.
To: Black Tooth
OK, the last 42 Presidents tried to close the borders and some didn't even try? What did you get it? Uh, what? Texasforever said that none of them did, not that they all did and some of them didn't.
he is expected to do what 42 previous presidents couldn't do and didn't even try to do.
That's a very simple sentence. If you can't understand it, perhaps a basic reading comprehension course is in order.
To: nopardons
You said..."The woman scorned, breast cancer, and GOD only knows what else, has melted her brains, because this is juvenile detritus."
I find this post reprehensible.
When you have to get to this level of invective...its more than politics.

You seem to have heard the words. Now, did she threaten Bush with the "Bush lied" quote or the " Mr. Peepers" quip or the gratuitous "illegal immigration" reference"? I have been searching her website for 30 minutes and can't find anything even close.

To: Brian_Baldwin
Its a little too early to get riled up about any of this, since we don't even know who the nominee is. The last thing I heard is President Bush wants to nominate someone in the same mold as Thomas and Scalia. That's good enough for me. To paraphrase "hold your fire until you see the nominee's ayes".
