Video Exposes Medical Marijuana as Hoax - (shows addicts LOL-ing about what a joke the law is!)
A.I.M.ORG ^ | JUNE 30, 2005 | CLIFF KINCAID

Posted on 06/30/2005 2:51:57 PM PDT by CHARLITE

Rhode Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri has vetoed a "medical marijuana" bill, saying it would encourage marijuana use and criminal activity. His veto comes as an anti-drug group has released dramatic video footage of a marijuana activist declaring that he uses dope for a health problem that he doesn't really have. The bottom line for this activist, Ed Rosenthal, is that "I like to get high. Marijuana is fun." The video has the potential of dealing a major blow to the "medical marijuana" movement, largely funded by billionaire George Soros.

The video footage, posted at the website http://www.sorosmonitor.com, gives the lie to the claim that we often see in the media that smoking marijuana is a legitimate medical treatment for people with diseases. Rosenthal, who was associated with High Times magazine for many years, is shown speaking to dozens of marijuana activists. "With all the talk about medical marijuana, I have to tell you that I also use marijuana medically (laughter)," he says. "I have a latent glaucoma, which has never been diagnosed (more laughter). And the reason why it has never been diagnosed is because I've been treating it (laughter)…But there is a reason why I do use it. And that is because I like to get high. (cheers, applause). Marijuana is fun."

The video proves that "medical marijuana" is a joke to those on the inside of the pro-pot movement who realize that getting the public and the media to accept the notion that smoking marijuana alleviates health problems is a major step down the road to complete legalization of dope.

"Ditto for medical marijuana"

Take your victories on this thread where you can get them. I'll concede that marijuana has been researched and studied.

So, as with Oxycontin, you're saying that no further research or studies need to be done on marijuana?

I'm saying doctors and patients should make their own medical decisions based on the best available information, and the government should mind its own business. (For what it's worth, it's my opinion that further research on marijuana would be warranted.)

"Is there good enough reason to ban marijuana?"

Double-click the displayed time in the lower right corner of your screen and you'll note that this is 2005, not 1936. Marijuana is illegal.

We must, therefore, ask ourselves the question, "is that a good enough reason to legalize marijuana?"

Still wrong; the correct question in a free country is, "Is there good enough reason to retain the marijuana ban?" With your givens, the answer is no.

Still substituting personal attacks for reasoned debate, I see. (As it happens, I haven't smoked marijuana in about fifteen years, so it hardly qualifies as my favorit vice.)

A personal attack? You brought up "nanny statism," and suggested that I was "drunk" on it.

the effects of marijuana use apparently linger. maybe you should go blow a fat one and cool out, dude.

cya.

After you accused me of pot-smoking in post #485.

Still nothing to say about the facts, I see. Understandable, since the facts are on my side.

"Come to the cancer ward and spew this dogma. Your words are hollow here."

Been there, done that. Dope does dick for pain. Who the hell do you think you are fooling? If you think it does, then the pain is in your head.

For REAL pain, try fentynol, a little morphine (iomg) in 100ML bag for a little extra help.

Dope makes you stupid, dope makes you giggle, it makes you DEPRESSED, it will even help with a lack of apetite,
it makes you dumb as a brick, but it does NOTHING AT ALL for pain.
Time after time, study after study, hospital after hospital,
people with REAL pain say BS!

I survived that illnes, and the pain that came with it, too bad this "dope helps pain" BS lingers on.

Well, in a 'free country' you should be able to do anyhing you please then. murder, rape, buggery, marry a cat or dog, goat camel etc.
there is no limit, is there?

Unless of course, you think there are RATIONAL limits.
Being stoned isn't rational. It makes you rhink irrationaly, it impares your abilities.
If you were meant to be stoned all the time, God would have made you that way ( or nature, whatever you believe)

Some people take freedom, and the "free country" concept a little too far. it won't be a free country much longer if this stupidity goes on much longer.

Anything that doesn't violate anyone else's rights. Murder and rape do; drug use doesn't.

Being stoned isn't rational. It makes you rhink irrationaly, it impares your abilities.

Ditto for being drunk; does that mean we should ban alcohol?
