Border Militia: We'll Shut Down the Border with Machine Guns

Casey Nethercott is the leader of a militia group dubbed the Arizona Guard and said during a TV interview broadcast on Friday, "When this Minuteman thing is over, if it doesn't work, we're going to come out here and close the border with machine guns."

KVOA TV-4 in Tucson carried a report on Friday by reporter Nancy Perla that toured the group's compound that sits along the Arizona/Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. The camera showed two older model American made SUV's, both painted black, that Nethercott claims are "armored vehicles" with "quarter-inch steel in them." Pointing again to the vehicles, Nethercott continued, "You'll get killed without them, here's been so many shootouts out here."

The camera then shows a concrete block wall riddled with bullet holes that Nethercott says came from drug smugglers. The report titled "Mimicman Projects" by KVOA calls them copy cats and says the project could begin on July 4, though Nethercott would release no details.

The Minuteman Project stated through Chris Simcox, who is an organizer for the project, that they don't support a violent solution. "I think anytime you go to that length to take the law into your own hands, you're asking for trouble," Simcox told KVOA.

The armed militia supports the Minuteman Project, but says that if they fail to close the border to illegal border crossers, his group will step in and be heavily armed to do the job.

You are really ignorant aren't you? I have never supported any of those people. You know about as much about business as you do about me. NOTHING.

They get a job, work hard, pay taxes, send money home and use the rest to take care of their immediate family. Is that not what was once the American dream?

Do it legally, and I'll love you.

Do it illegally, and I'll round yer ass up m'self.

We scratch the stone a little deeper and find you're not a fan of 'outsourcing'?

And you are?

I know they go by a different name, but how are they really different?

According to that "logic," how can we know that the North American Man-Boy Love Association and the Boys Scouts are really different?

One of the ways we know they are different is one of them advocates using machine guns to guard the border and the other goes to great lengths to condemn violence of any kind against illegals.

These MMK's are really one step away from going postal.

I can't say that I blame them. It is one thing to sit in an overstuffed seat in a plush DC office while you plan your latest pork project, and quite another thing to be on the front lines of the illegal immigration problem. Not everyone has a federal security detail, powerful friends, and an enormous pile in the bank. In the real world there are job loses, higher crime rates, and the degregation caused by a transient foreign community.

The country is on the rocks, and the Republicans have better lead or get out of the way. BS, no matter how many flags you wrap around it, or how big a pile of bibles you stack about it, is just not going to cut it.

You have been told this repeatedly, but you are intentionally ignoring the facts in your efforts to disparage the good people involved with the Minuteman Project. Casey Nethercott and his militia have nothing to do with the Minuteman Project despite your dishonest attempts to make a connection.

Okay, I'll weigh in now.

I have had it with people equating legal immigrants with illegal immigrants. Not the same, understand? Talk about demonizing, Dane, that is what you and the MSM who make the same "error" are doing to me.

Americans and legal immigrants would do whatever jobs are available if they were not shut out of labor markets by illegal immigrants and those who run criminal job sites, just to make a few extra dollars. It is the illegal contractor who is shutting out people who want to work legally.

Illegals are killed constantly on contruction sites without the most elementary safety equipment, and many of them don't even make a legal minimum wage. I've seen it with my own eyes.

It's costing my company plenty. We will use only contractors who will certify that all of their personnel who come to our buildings are legal. As a consequence, we are very limited in which contractors are willing to bid on our jobs, and those few who are, charge accordingly.

So you're sure that every member of the so called 'non-violent' group is opposed to shooting migrants?

How many shot migrants are there?

You know, that is what I think is so unfair. You said you were a small business person who does not employ illegals. Why should an honest business person have to compete with other business's who hire illegals therefore giving them the advantage over you. NOT FAIR. So now, you not only have to compete, you have to compete with someone who pays less and provides no benefits. These companies hiring illegals can put the honest business OUT of business.

Many of them were immigrants themselves, so I'm certain they wouldn't be taking the same position as you have on immigration.

Incorrect. They would take my position: For legal immigration, and Against illegal immigration.

You FOILs/FROBLs/CALs can't make your arguments against he Minuteman Project without telling outright lies, engaging in open slander, and quoting the leftists.

I cannot help but agree.

So does tom tancredo, illegal labor helped remodel his basement with an overhead projector and terraced seating.

You keep quoting this like it was true.

Tancredo hired an American company to do the work. The company illegally hired a couple of illegal aliens unbeknowst to Tancredo. Tancredo did not knowingly or intentionally hire any illegal aliens and was quite alarmed to find out that the company he hired to do the work had done so.

I'll ask you a question. Where do the vast majority of today's American parents point their children towards vocation wise. Menial jobs or to higher education and other white collar vocations. Because they can no longer afford to make a living in vocational type work, because the illegals have driven the wage base so low.

We're Baaaaaaack

Check the address. Ranch Rescue is way up by Phoenix and nowhere near the southern border.

Ranch Rescue has nothing to do with the Minuteman Project. You might as well say that Eric Rudolph is a Free Republic leader - it would be the same as trying to connect Nethercott, Arizona Guard, or Ranch Rescue with the Minuteman Project. But you just can't stop your lies.

Spiff, look at yourself. You've spent at least as much time denying the embarrassing actions/threats of others as you have reporting on the MMK stuff from the desert. You've become the MMK's Lanny Davis.

Yes, he is laughable. Most people that follow the border issue know that Nethercott kicked Foote off his ranch last year and they no longer associate and Foote is back in Texas. It was widely discussed here on FR. Yes, I laugh also, when these idiots continue to post lies and confirm, for all to see, their dishonesty.

Agenda over honesty.

Sad, but O! so liberal.
