Border Militia: We'll Shut Down the Border with Machine Guns
Casey Nethercott is the leader of a militia group dubbed the Arizona Guard and said during a TV interview broadcast on Friday, "When this Minuteman thing is over, if it doesn't work, we're going to come out here and close the border with machine guns."
KVOA TV-4 in Tucson carried a report on Friday by reporter Nancy Perla that toured the group's compound that sits along the Arizona/Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. The camera showed two older model American made SUV's, both painted black, that Nethercott claims are "armored vehicles" with "quarter-inch steel in them." Pointing again to the vehicles, Nethercott continued, "You'll get killed without them, here's been so many shootouts out here."
The camera then shows a concrete block wall riddled with bullet holes that Nethercott says came from drug smugglers. The report titled "Mimicman Projects" by KVOA calls them copy cats and says the project could begin on July 4, though Nethercott would release no details.
The Minuteman Project stated through Chris Simcox, who is an organizer for the project, that they don't support a violent solution. "I think anytime you go to that length to take the law into your own hands, you're asking for trouble," Simcox told KVOA.
The armed militia supports the Minuteman Project, but says that if they fail to close the border to illegal border crossers, his group will step in and be heavily armed to do the job.
Yes, he is laughable. Most people that follow the border issue know that Nethercott kicked Foote off his ranch last year and they no longer associate and Foote is back in Texas. It was widely discussed here on FR.
Yes, I laugh also, when these idiots continue to post lies and confirm, for all to see, their dishonesty.

"Imagine that! And I thought they (the militia) said they were just going to inform the Boarder Patrol about illegal entrants."
It's people like you who have caused the problem in the first place. When the immigration law is not enforced, it leads to an invasion of illegals who defy the law, which in turn leads to lawlessness on the part of our own citizens. For example, Why should I have a drivers license when illegals don't have them and would get forged ones even if the law were changed?
So, the Minutemen come and raise a stink, legally, to draw attention to the problem, and you complain about citizen's making a legitimate cry for help. On the other hand, people like you support an invasion of illegal thieves and gangbangers across the border and then are surprised when gangs of thieves and gangbangers take them on? Unbelievable.
Lawlessnes begats lawless ness. That's the whole point. The Minutemen are trying to avert the greater problem.
Hmmm. I didn't know that...thinking they were both one and the same. Thanks for pointing that out.
Uh you saw where I was for Prop. 200. I say cut down on all welfare, for everybody.
And contrary to your demonization of the small business people who are building buildings and tarring roofs in 100 degree heat, that they are rubbing their hands together going "muuuaaaaaah, I'm going to screw the taxpayer", I think there main objective is to complete their contract and have reliable workers to get the job done.
That must be the epitomie of evil to you, IMO.
I don't have an agenda and really didn't know they were different groups until it was pointed out to me. Thanks.
I'm not demonizing anyone. I just happen to think ILLEGALS and the people who employ them are suppose to OBEY OUR LAWS. Who the hell do you think built buildings and tarred roofs in 100 degree heat BEFORE we allowed ILLEGALS TO BREAK OUR LAWS?!
JMO, neathercott's group and the minutemen, probably have something akin to what the demos and the aclu have.
The aclu is "independent" yada, yada, yada, but are really another arm of the democrat party.
Yes, as I sit here in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, it is people like me who have not issued an order for the Boarder Patrol to do its job, and of causing tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to come flooding across our boarders looking for a better way of life.
Perhaps you would like to lay death and orignal sin upon my shoulder's also?
Americans, and immigrants, but most Americans don't want those jobs now.
.
Also remember it was immigrants who filled up the steel mills in the 20th century.
I guess Carnegie was an evil business owner to you.
You may want to learn how to spell border.
They came here LEGALLY which obviously passes right over your head.
Americans, and immigrants, but most Americans don't want those jobs now.
How do you know "most Americans don't want those jobs now"?! Have you talked to "most Americans" looking for a job? I keep hearing this repeated over and over again but I haven't actually met anyone who has talked to these sorry no good LEGAL Americans who don't want these jobs.
And what you're doing is the equivalent of asscoiating Dr Martin Luther King with the Black Panther Party. King preached change through non-violence, while the BBP was actively involved in murders and crime.

Different group of people.

I hate to say it, but it's really not up to congress, at least not according to the Constitution. Congress makes the laws. It's up to the executive branch to uphold them. President Bush is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. I hate to say it, but it's up to the Bush administration.

If it doesn't fit their agenda they just make it up. They seem to think ILLEGAL Americans looking for work is the same as LEGAL Americans. They also seem to think that it's small businesses who hire most ILLEGALS when in fact it is more like Tyson Foods and WalMart which I don't consider small businesses. I really don't care who the employers are who are hiring ILLEGALS because that's the point. It is ILLEGAL and they should be held accountable for breaking the law.
I'll ask you a question. Where do the vast majority of today's American parents point their children towards vocation wise. Menial jobs or to higher education and other white collar vocations.
The answer is white collar vocations.
BTW, I'm not for granting citizenship, but a documented guest worker program, that the US had before LBJ dismantled it.
I know they go by a different name, but how are they really different?
Many of them were immigrants themselves, so I'm certain they wouldn't be taking the same position as you have on immigration.
They came over before the US govt. tried to control the labor supply.
