Hi, gang,
I was a regular contributor to the Kerry Online Forum and am now a regular contributor to the Common Ground Common Sense forum. I am a liberal, but I'll be the first to admit, I don't have all the answers. In fact, many of hte questions that matter to me probably matter to you too. I'm concerned with questions about how to tame power, whether governmental or corporate. I'm concern with the rule of law and how we can get the powerful to take it seriously. I'm concerned with the erosion of civil liberties. And yes, I am concerned about some things you may associate with liberalism--social safety nets and taking care of those who fall through the institutional cracks.
I'm here because I think agreement is overrated and that critics can be your best friends: they keep you from getting sloppy or careless. At any rate, I think there are things I can learn from you. I don't expect you are all agreed on anything--I expect there is a lot of diversity of opinion here. If you are interested in what I have said over at Common Ground Common Sense, I'm using the same handle both places, and you should feel free to come over and look around.
Anyway, I'm new here. Anybody care to give me a tour?
We're PRO American economy and culture. Here's some homework so you can see the stupidity of liberal thinking on these topics.
World's pollution hotspots revealed from space

Kyoto Accords suck for American business and therefore for the American economy.. China and India are exempt, contrary to the FACT that they are the planets worst polluters

Class warfare sucks.
Atheists, not Muslims, are anti-Christmas

Above article dissed by many freepers, but IMO it says a lot you need to consider. Freepers dont want to have Christmas abolished, its part of Western Culture, which we revere.

How to tear down Western Culture. Again, we know Western Culture is worth saving, and so would you if youd done any traveling to third- and fourth-world countries.
And then there's the UN. Why would any American want to give our power away to third- and fourth-world countries? Why should reps from places like Algeria have any power over us? They haven't figured out how to run their own countries. I've been to the UN and was entirely disgusted with the $3000 Armani-suit and $15,000 Rolex-watch wearing delegates from places like Sudan. In Kartoum, the main streets are literally paved in sh*t,as you may know if you read the great travel book "Baghdad Without a Map." And cretins like this should have any say at all about what we do? I recommend the book to you. Both of my kids have lived and worked in North Africa and the Middle East and know that every word is true.
A liberal just joined my Toastmaster's group. In her first speech, she said that capitalism doesn't take care of those lower on the ladder. How offensive. Most of the members of the group work very hard in private organizations that provide things like clean water to Africa, corneas to the blind overseas and at home, etc etc. Liberal suppositions about capitalists are ill-informed to say the least.
Hit it with one more shot...
Read post # 721, especially the last paragraph.
Very well done...Hear, HEAR!!
No kidding! He's a noisome little buggerer, isn't he?
As a matter of fact I do. But I dont think that not being hassled by the morons at TSA is a civil liberty. And yes maybe he is here to learn, but to parrot dem, DU, Kerry, or any other lefty's mantra on a conservative message board will ALWAYS raise doubt about the posters intentions..
Please stop saying the same thing over and over and answer my question. You have yet to enlighten me as to why socialism is in our best interest. What you are proposing is socialism. To call it something else does not change its nature. Now, please, give a detailed explanation of why socialism would be good for America.
it's in our best interests to pay for one sick person to see a doctor now, rather than 10 sick people to go to the ER later. preventative medicine saves billions of dollars. lower administrative health care costs saves billions of dollars. health people, who do not constantly need to stay home from work and cost their companies lost revenue, saves billions of dollars.
Just the way you speak. "It's in our best interest is a strong indicator that you are a socialist...that you think that we (the state) are responsible for the people . Conservatives believe that individuals are responsible for themselves.
What are you doing on a conservative site?
...from .. each, according to his ability... to .. each, according to his ignorance, stupidity, lack of responsibility and utter contempt for God...
RAH! RAH! RAH!
unprincipled selfish morally relative 'bigness' couched in 'social justice' is but anarchy is but the democrat elites...
I "know" this guy. I first noticed him posting on Dirty Harry's blog on the Ohio threads, then he showed up on Polipundit, now here. He has that distinctive style, both in his foul-mouthed verbiage and his punctuation.
Dude's a mess and on a grand tour, it seems.
Welcome to civilization.
