The deer hunter accused of killing six hunters and wounding two others in the woods of northern Wisconsin is believed to have resided in the Toledo area as a youth and attended Jones Junior High School.
Chai Vang, 36, of St. Paul, is listed as a student at the South Toledo school during the 1982-1983 school year, according to Toledo Public School documents.
Willie Braggs, a social studies teacher at Jones, said he remembers Mr. Vang as a student. "He was in my class in 1982 and he seemed like a pretty good student," Mr. Braggs said. "It was a real shock [to hear of the shootings]."
A wave of Laotian refugees was brought to the Toledo area in 1979 and the early 1980s. They were resettled here with the help of church groups and other local sponsors. It was not clear yesterday when Mr. Vang's family came to Toledo or when they left.
By 1994, only about 35 Hmong families remained in the area, largely because many families moved to other cities where there were more jobs available and larger concentrations of others in their ethnic group.
About 24,000 Hmong live in St. Paul.

Now, can we get this pathetic thread obliterated??!
Dang! I knew I shoulda waited to go to the store! I missed it!
Hands up!! How many think he knows what a Viking Kitten is now??!
I doubt if we need to. It's in the Smokey Backroom, where it belongs.
I'm glad "It" is gone.
Well...how about having all his posts removed? I get sick to my stomach at the thought of any of the relatives happening on this thread?
That's a good point. Many of the arguments Credo made would be very upsetting to any family members if they stumbled across them. That could reflect badly on FR...
Pinging AM...
But now that he who will not be named is gone this will be my last post to this thread.
Ciao all! Thanks. We did good.
I think that the families, if they did stumble across this thread, would see that we stood up for THEM. I'm sure he's been here before and will return soon under a different name.
True, true.
Or sometimes reading two lines I've typed bleeds into one line, and it still makes some sick twisted sense of it's own.
So you're saying that since "6 or 7" people are dead, the dead are automatically at fault here?
Mr Police officer won't help you.
I lived in vernon NJ.
A man was jacking deer on someone's property.
In otehr words, trerspassing.
The landowner called the cops.
The cops said, and I quote, "We can't do anything. Those guys HAVE GUNS."
Holy cow, looks like I missed a whole bunch of crap on this thread. My bad for giving a guy the benefit of the doubt early in the thread. Oh well.
Have the wife make you some of that soup!It sounds really good. Thanks! :^D
Somehow I don't think he'll last too long here .....Bye!
He's dead, Jim!
He started phishing for some answer or response, and wasn't getting what he wanted.
So he started digging his hole deeper and blaming the victims.
hehe! :^D
Looks like our "buddy" found out about the kitties afterall, and the game wardens couldn't save him.
I would love to hear about what your company did in Korea, but what did you do?
