If the loving heart of the Great Emancipator found its natural amorous passions overwhelmingly directed toward those of his own sex, it would certainly be a stunning rebuke to the Republican Party’s scapegoating of same-sex love for electoral purposes. And a forthcoming book by the late Dr. C.A. Tripp — The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln, to be published in the new year by Free Press — makes a powerful case that Lincoln was a lover of men.
Tripp, who worked closely in the 1940s and 1950s with the groundbreaking sexologist Alfred Kinsey, was a clinical psychologist, university professor and author of the 1975 best-seller The Homosexual Matrix, which helped transcend outdated Freudian clichés and establish that a same-sex affectional and sexual orientation is a normal and natural occurrence.
In his book on Lincoln, Tripp draws on his years with Kinsey, who, he wrote, "confronted the problem of classifying mixed sex patterns by devising his 0-to-6 scale, which allows the ranking of any homosexual component in a person’s life from none to entirely homosexual. By this measure Lincoln qualifies as a classical 5 — predominantly homosexual, but incidentally heterosexual."
Tripp also found, based on multiple historical accounts, that Lincoln attained puberty unusually early, by the age of 9 or 10 — early sexualization being a prime Kinsey indicator for same-sex proclivities. Even Lincoln’s stepmother admitted in a post-assassination interview that young Abe "never took much interest in the girls." And Tripp buttresses his findings that Lincoln was a same-sex lover with important new historical contributions.

This is an important issue. There have been comments that this thread should be pulled - and I can understand completely your disgust. But it should stay, so that we can decimate the bias and criminality of the book's author, the criminality and psychosis of Kinsey (who seems to be the author's prop of authority), and put to rest this lie.
The fairytale that Abe Lincoln was a closeted "gay" is the REASON THAT THE LOG CABIN "REPUBLICANS" HAVE THEIR NAME. And the reason they call themselves "Republicans" is to push the GOP towards embracing the "gay" agenda.
Here's a couple of points (and I haven't read the whole article yet, just what is excerpted):
1. The idea that Abraham Lincoln was a homosexual is impossible to prove unless there are photos (ha), letters describing sex acts or eyewitnesses. Does the author provide any of these?
There's a quote that Lincoln wasn't much interested in girls as a youth. In those days, when illicit and premarital sex was condemned, a lot of youths didn't show interest in girls. Sometimes serious people don't act like animals in rut all the time. Does that make them homosexual??
2. Even IF - say by a remote possibility - Abraham Lincoln had some homosexual expreriences - he KEPT IT IN THE CLOSET WHERE IT BELONGS. And that's a big if. I am not accepting their claims. He did not promote it, did not "celebrate" it, did not force the normalization of it on the rest of society, did not participate in parades, etc.
And that is a big IF. Naturally there have been some people throughout history with S.S.A.D - same sex attraction disorder. Some have succombed to their sexually dysfunctional, unhealthy, and abnormal desires, and some have successfully fought them.
There have also been, throughout history, those with desires to commit adultery, theft, lying, murder, assault, and so on.
The bottom line is this: Homosexuality is NOT a fixed identity. No one is "gay". Some people have attraction to members of the same sex, and it is a mental disorder, and when acted upon, unhealthy, abnormal, and a sin. And when promoted and "normalized", a crime against nature.
And there are thousands of ex-homosexuals, which gives the lie to the propaganda that it is a fixed "identity".

Anyone remember "The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer", the incredible slam on Lincoln guised as a "funny sitcom" set during the Civil War, with Lincoln as a sex-obsessed bumbler, Mary Todd as a sex-obsessed neurotic, and of course, the only sane and normal one was the black butler? Lasted 3 episodes. Man, Hollywood...what a bunch of losers.

No. So far as I know, President Lincoln was faithful to his wife. If you found proof otherwise, that would matter. It wouldn't matter much whether he had been unfaithful with men or women.
Perhaps Abe did love other men. There's nothing wrong with that. It's having sex with them that's twisted. Of course, to a homosexual, everything is about sex so they wouldn't see the distinction.

Because you imply that Speed and Lincoln were homosexual when such arrangements were common. As a direct relative to Joshua Speed I can tell you that he was happily married to Fanny Hennings and the notion that he was homosexual is ridiculous.
