I have heard Alan Keyes called a carpetbagger because he is from Maryland. But I have not heard Obama called a carpet bagger and this confuses me. Obama was not born in Illinois, he was born in Hawaii. I bet Alan Keyes was born closer to Illinois.
Obama's mother was a white woman from Kansas, his father was African, Keyes' roots lie in slaves brought here from Africa, sold into slavery by Obama's ancestors, yet Obama better represents Illinois blacks.
Obama was raised a Muslim like his father and his step father who moved him it Indonesia where he was raised as a Muslim. Keyes is a Catholic. Obama claims to be Christian, a member of the United Church of Christ, check it out, they are not Baptists.
Obama went to school on the East Coast and returned to Illinois to begin his political career in Chicago in the 1990's. He is a teacher. He worked to get Bill Clinton elected. They say Illinois is a liberal state and Kerry will win here.
I do not know but from where I sit Obama is the carpetbagger, not Alan Keyes.
Yep. Don't need no more darkies in powa.
Agreed...the thread needs to be killed.
OK, let us continue to hide the truth about Obama, how very democrat of you.
If I may. You are not wrong in voting for Keyes. However, the apology your spinning on Keyes behalf is intellectually offensive, and that's why you're catching the heat you're catching.
Obama is undoubtedly extremely liberal, and therefore bad for IL. However, there is no argument, none, zero, zilch that Obama is even remotely unqualified due to his residency. Ronald Reagan was born in IL, yet became the governor of California, but unlike Hilary, Reagan was actually a resident of California, and Obama is likewise genuinely a longstanding resident of IL.
You don't have to support Obama to be intellectually honest and admit that if Keyes has met the residency requirements, that Obama has met them a hundred times over.
11 Muslims killed almost 3,000 innocent people on 9/11 for Alla. Please explain how this thread compares.
No. Let's lay the truth on the table about YOU.
You think Obama shouldn't even be in the race because he's a Muslim, and we can't have Muslims in the Senate.
You realize, of course, that there are plenty of Americans who don't think there ought to be Catholics in the Senate either.
See what happens when you pin your argument on religious bigotry?
Back to that intellectual honesty thing. A post ago you were calling Obama a carpet bagger. Now you're calling him a Chicago Liberal. Surely you see the logical inconsistancy there? He can't be a carpet bagger and a Chicago Liberal, at the same time. He has to be one or the other.
Tear Obama a new one over his ideology. Leave the sophistry to the democrats.
Huh?
Artemis, you gettin' this jive?
Tell me what I'm missing here.
Keyes has satisfied the legal residency requirements required in Illinois. If Obama lived in Chicago 100 years he would never be able to represent me. Keyes could fly over my house in an airplane and would represent me better. If he is not breaking the law why do you care? Do you like abortion that much?
My problem is that he will not admit he is Muslim and calls himself Christian.
Then it's his birth name, and not a taken muslim name. In that case, Iam1ru1-2 is way off base asking why he kept his muslim name. Casius Clay became Muhamed Ali when he became a muslim. If Ali renounces Islam, I would expect Ali to take back his birth name. Obama is obviously using his birth name, and I dont' think anyone would really argue against that.
That is very true. Obama wasn't one of the 11 though. Your claims are all guilt by association. I don't like Obama because of his politics. You, I believe don't like his skin color or religion.
This thread needs to die.
btw, Muslim is not a language. Nothing means anything in Muslim [sic].
Chicago is not Illinois. You have to live here to understand.
I'll give it a third, kill this thread. I'm reading like I'm defending Obama, and it's not my intent. I'm just compelled to correct such extreme acts of stupidity.
Is 'None of the Above' an option?
Yes. He's already voted to. Now why don't you give it a rest.
It's a black thing. You wouldn't understand
not cool. that's a garbage post.
