I have heard Alan Keyes called a carpetbagger because he is from Maryland. But I have not heard Obama called a carpet bagger and this confuses me. Obama was not born in Illinois, he was born in Hawaii. I bet Alan Keyes was born closer to Illinois.
Obama's mother was a white woman from Kansas, his father was African, Keyes' roots lie in slaves brought here from Africa, sold into slavery by Obama's ancestors, yet Obama better represents Illinois blacks.
Obama was raised a Muslim like his father and his step father who moved him it Indonesia where he was raised as a Muslim. Keyes is a Catholic. Obama claims to be Christian, a member of the United Church of Christ, check it out, they are not Baptists.
Obama went to school on the East Coast and returned to Illinois to begin his political career in Chicago in the 1990's. He is a teacher. He worked to get Bill Clinton elected. They say Illinois is a liberal state and Kerry will win here.
I do not know but from where I sit Obama is the carpetbagger, not Alan Keyes.
OK, Keyes still has much more in common with me than Obama. Since I live in Illinois I will vote for him and do it proudly. I want someone who speaks for me and will help Bush eliminate abortion, Keyes will do it, Obama will not.
I can live with that and when I see God face to face explain why I voted for a carpetbagger who opposed killing babies. Explain to me again why I am wrong.
You think you're going to win with religious and racial bigotry, and by calling the teaching profession "not a real job"?
You're really into this religion thing, aren't you?
You want to discriminate against Muslims? You apparently forget how Catholics were persecuted in this country in its early history.
Keyes has been a talk show host for the last six years.
Can talk show hosts represent farmers better than teachers?
A person's ancestry and religion have nothing to do with carpetbagging. Alan Keyes and Hillary Clinton are both carpetbaggers because they are politicians who moved into new localities for the specific purpose of running for office there. Many voters resent that, or at least are suspicious about the motives of candidates who do so. It's up to the candidates to overcome that suspicion, and many past "carpetbaggers" throughout the country have successfully convinced voters to elect them (and many, many others have failed). Alan Keyes must overcome that obstacle as a prerequisite to winning his race.
The fact that Keyes is a hypocrite on the issue hurts him badly. If he had never criticized Hillary for carpetbagging, it would be vastly easier for him to justify his own similar actions. Now he's hoisted by his own petard.
If you believe Keyes is a much better candidate than Obama, and want to provide reasons why Obama should be defeated, that's fine. Have at it. But trying to somehow claim that Obama is more of a carpetbagger than Keyes is totally ridiculous, and it just makes you sound silly and desperate.
It has always worked for the democrats.
Remember 9/11? Remember Danny Pearl? Remember the Pentigon? Remember Osama bin Laden? Remember Muslim terrorism?
Muslims have declared war on us, Obama wants to hide the fact he was raised a Muslim, I find that rather frightening.
Does Obama want to kill Americans?
How about a California actor? The Terminator? Democrats have attorneies Teddy Kennedy and Bill Clinton. You tell me why a talk show host/actor is not better than an attorney/teacher.
You ask him, he will not even admit who he is.
Ok, Keyes is a hippocrite who wants to protect the unborn, what a terrible choice. I think I can live with him.
Is it an Islamic name or his birth name?
Hey...Obama may be a liberal. But that pic is way over the line!!!
Explain how I have hidden the truth, please.
Democrats are not interested in the truth.
I'm sorry. I was wrong. Please forgive me.
His Muslim father is also Barack Obama which means something in Muslim, I would say it has Muslim written all over it.
I can't.
My charitable suggestion to you is that you kill this thread. Now. You're wandering off into dangerous territory.
