I respect Savage's opinion but he doesn't say how we pick the lettuce and grapes w/o Mexicans. Soapboxes are great if they address all the sides of the story. Should we be locking up farmers who hire illegals??

I agree with those who say Savage is passionate which is what gets him in trouble. I didn't hear him say this but I've heard him say worse and figured he was just blowing off steam...it's live radio...How often I've said something and later cooled down. How grateful I am I'm not 'usually' (cept when I write on F.R. *smile*) speaking to thousands of people at once. He's also suffered the loss of his Mother so my heart goes out to him...
I'm still voting for Bush in '04.

"This is the worst betrayal of our country in my lifetime," Clinton. China. Security Leaks.
Carter. North Korea. Nuclear Program.
Oh forget it. I don't need to go on.
I STRONGLY disagree with this program, too, but it hardly rises to impeachable levels. Clinton would have made the amnesty an Executive Order, not launched a trial balloon.
I don't listen to Savage any more, and haven't in a long time, but this is just ridiculous. Sheesh.

I had to shut him off last night. When he said he wanted a dem...any dem...Dean/whoever, his message was no longer rational. There is a big picture to look at. Yes, it involves many, many issues, but electing a dem. would be a horrible mistake.

Oh yeah...
"This is much more serious than dropping your pants for an intern," said Savage. "This is a policy that represents a danger to national security."
OK, now I know he's a leftist at heart. He's signed on full boat with the DNC party line. What part of "obstruction of justice and perjury" doesn't he comprehend? What a fool.

Savage has once again went off the deep end. I'm afraid he would find that all Presidents would impeached under such an offense. This immigration amnesty is not about solving the problem, sadly. Bush is doing this to court the Latino vote. Likely at the urging of Karl Rove.
To: JustPiper
I don't think we should be legalizing the status of illegal immigrants either, but impeachment?
I've heard this Savage guy a couple of times and thought he was making a conscious effort to sound like a screwball. It looks like he's trying to outdo himself on this one, BUT GOOD!

Savage is in need of a couple years off to collect his thoughts. At least until after the Nov elections.

Impeach Bush I strongly disagree with the Prez's immigration proposal, but this statement by Savage is savagely idiotic. ....No different than leftists who call for Bush's impeachment because he "lied about Iraq."
I remember Savage calling for us to "annihilate China with nuclear weapons" when they forced our Navy surveillance plane down in early '01. He repeated it the next day, just to let us know he wasn't kidding. When a caller to his radio show reminded him that China possessed ICBM's and would likely respond by nuking the very west coast city Savage resides in (among others), he cut him off before the caller could finish his thought ....and then promptly resumed his insanity as if the call never happened.
Savage is certifiably insane.

Impeachment is a little harsh but thats because 83% of us say this is a crappy idea. You can run and hide but you cannot get away from what is about to happen if it is approved. Illegal means just that and trying to downplay that is just wrong. There is no reason not to have immigration but by God make it legal immigration. The future of America may at stake and someone on the top of the pile best pay attention to the majority.

What Bush has done amounts to rubbing salt into an open wound when there was no rational need to do it.
Assuming that Ameriocan business needs guest workers, which is a big assumption, then a rational guest worker plan would bear little if any resemblence to what is actually happening.
I have two basic concerns about latin Americans coming into this country illegally: I don't want to have to pay for it, and I don't want them voting until they've spent 21 years in this country. I mean, I had to spend 21 years in this country before I was ever allowed to vote and I don't view them as better than me.
A reasonable guest worker policy would have minimally the following features:
- The guest worker comes alone, no wives, kids, or anchor babies. He works here for a couple of years, saves some money, and then goes back.
- The company hiring the guy pays the total bill for it. Total cost to the American taxpayer is zero.
- The company hiring the guest workers provides ESL training for them and makes a reasonable effort to get them functional in an English language society in minimal time.
- Nobody votes in America until they've lived here 21 years: ZERO INCENTIVE for any political party to try to import voting blocks for themselves.
- Nobody drives in America until they can pass a minimal English proficiency test.

I would say not impeachable, but he will not get my vote again.
To: JustPiper
Savage is right about one thing, though: Granting amnesty to 14 million illegal aliens IS more serious than getting serviced by an intern.
