BigSky and Dawg are long on optimism, but come up
way short on reality.
They're not worth the effort...

Look, I'm getting tired of your insults pal. If you can't stop impugning my education, etc I'm not impugning your education- I'm questioning it, as you have done to mine in the past. If you weren't so sensitive about it, you'd have answered the question a long time a go.
Show me a democracy prior to the United STates that had full representation,
Umm... the franchise was originally limited to rich, landowning white males. The US didn't have full representation until well into this century.
equal rights,
Slavery, anyone? Roman citizens all had protected rights, though.
separation of powers
The Roman Republic. They had separate judicial, legislative and executive branches.
In fact, show me one now that has the separation of powers, protection of rights, federalism, etc. that we have
Using your definition of democracy (mob rule) there are no democracies on the planet. As to whether there are other countries in the world that practice separation of powers, protection of rights and federalism, off the top of my head: Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Australia, Japan. Probably some others, but these are the ones whose governmental systems I'm familiar with.

Look at the overall business picture. Right now, you see only one facet... There's a lot more to it, than that. That's where you and I both agree. All that other stuff you posted was merely kneejerk reactions, mine were potential scenarios.

If being a optimist offends you, so be it. I never was good at being a pessimist.

Here you go - just so I can prove YOU DEAD WRONG! Check out this Congressional website for the U.S. Code:
http://uscode.house.gov/usc.htm
In the search blank, just type in "Declaration of Independence" chief and then check out the 4457 hits!
The defense rests. You lose! Now, unless you have another argument, get lost loser.

As currently used, there's no real difference between "Democracy" or "Republic." Both refer to a system of government where the people elect representatives within some sort of constitutional or legal framework.I heard some here at FR say that the Republic went out the window a long time ago. I think it's backwards. IMO, the courts have become the pure republic with the blessing of Congress.

I'm tired of your fallacious arguments. Everything I said about Bush is the truth. If said something that wasn't true, then refute it if you can! You can't! All you can do is spew out that banal fallacious old argument that "a vote against Bush is a vote for Clark or Dean." Is that all you got? I've already exposed that for the logical rubbish that it is.

His plan is ridiculous and pandering will not get my vote, therefore I will not vote because neither cantidate is worth a $hit!
There that is my voice in my non vote. That is my message to Bush...Shape up or get the hell outta the way!
You're NON-VOTE is appreciated. Protest votes are so '60 and left wing in origin.

You want to talk facts, fine. Let's see your facts. When you post them....? Then maybe we'll talk further. Until then, you're in the same category as Texas_puppy.... Too stupid to waste any more of my limited time on.

I give up it is pointless. Good luck in your drive to open the borders.
This is what this policy will do. Please take the time to RESEARCH this epidemic and notice if you will the trends of the government and MY TAX DOLLARS to take care of legals.
Have a good day.

Umm... the franchise was originally limited to rich, landowning white males. The US didn't have full representation until well into this century. Women had the same human rights as men before they got the right to vote. I'm still waiting for an example from pre-1787.

Hey lets not let any facts to links I have posted get in the way of your argument with this statement. A person that makes such a statement as this one above is either to lazy to READ on FACTS I hav posted; or just doesn't want to as it would defeat their argument. I am finished debating with you until you become more educated on immigration and the costs to this country.

In the search blank, just type in "Declaration of Independence" chief and then check out the 4457 hits! That search provides results with keywords "declaration" and "independence". If you knew your US Code, you would know that there are 4 instances in Title 16, 1 instance in Title 22 and 1 instance in Title 48. None of which is Congressional law that says the Declaration of independence IS law. US Code The defense rests. You lose! Now, unless you have another argument, get lost loser.
Is that how you win arguments?

In the search blank, just type in "Declaration of Independence" chief and then check out the 4457 hits!I didn't ask for a list of hits. I asked for a specific citation (that means a specific Title and Section--if you actually knew anything about law, you'd know that little fact) from the United States Code that specifically states that the Declaration of Independence is organic law.
The defense rests. You lose!
Nope. The verdict is still out, unless you REALLY want to go to the jury--at which point YOU will lose.
Now, unless you have another argument, get lost loser.
I merely demand an answer the my question. Title and Section that support your assertion. All you did was find 4,457 mentions of the Declaration of Independence. What do these mentions actually SAY?

Research facts and statistics and then get back to us on your sheeple beliefs. Just because I am not a lock step kool-aid drinking Republicrat does not make me a DNC speaker.
Please educate yourself on immigration LEGAL and ILLEGAL and then come here and discuss ISSUES with me.
Then again most in here live all snug and warm up North and do not have to face the problems that some of us in border states do.......go figure.

Please take the time to RESEARCH this epidemic and notice if you will the trends of the government and MY TAX DOLLARS to take care of legals. I'm for reducing welfare just as much as you are. But I'm opposed to welfare payments to Americans just as much as illegals. Because I'm opposed to welfare payments. I don't care who is receiving them. (You'll find that a large majority of "legal" Americans receiving welfare payments are "illegal" in many other areas of their lives as well.)
