As to whether there are other countries in the world that practice separation of powers, protection of rights and federalism, off the top of my head: Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Australia, Japan. Probably some others, but these are the ones whose governmental systems I'm familiar with.

As currently used, there's no real difference between "Democracy" or "Republic." Both refer to a system of government where the people elect representatives within some sort of constitutional or legal framework.

I heard some here at FR say that the Republic went out the window a long time ago. I think it's backwards. IMO, the courts have become the pure republic with the blessing of Congress.

If you knew your US Code, you would know that there are 4 instances in Title 16, 1 instance in Title 22 and 1 instance in Title 48. None of which is Congressional law that says the Declaration of independence IS law. US Code The defense rests. You lose! Now, unless you have another argument, get lost loser.

I didn't ask for a list of hits. I asked for a specific citation (that means a specific Title and Section--if you actually knew anything about law, you'd know that little fact) from the United States Code that specifically states that the Declaration of Independence is organic law.

I'm for reducing welfare just as much as you are. But I'm opposed to welfare payments to Americans just as much as illegals. Because I'm opposed to welfare payments. I don't care who is receiving them. (You'll find that a large majority of "legal" Americans receiving welfare payments are "illegal" in many other areas of their lives as well.)
