Changing Our Country

Changing Our Country

John F. Kennedy wrote a small book in 1958 titled "A Nation of Immigrants" promoting freer immigration policies. It was the blueprint for a law that President Kennedy proposed in 1963, shortly before his assassination, to eliminate racial discrimination inherent in the nation's immigration system.

Two years later, JFK's "A Nation of Immigrants" idea became the The Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments of 1965 pushed through Congress with little fanfare as a tribute to the fallen president by his brothers, Edward and Robert Kennedy.

If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity." John F. Kennedy

A Nation of Immigrants

You know what? America really is a nation of immigrants. Our parents, aunts and uncles and grandparents come from every country in the world and pretty much we all get along okay. Separatism was allowed in some areas but generally we assimilated with each other quite well.

Marrying each others sons and daughters, working side by side with recent legal immigrants doesn't seem to bother most Americans. From what I've seen in my 56 years we generally attempt to assist the newcomer to assimilate into our communities with ease. During lunch we ask questions about what their life was like in their home country and we tell stories our grandparents told us about what it as like back where our national heritage stemmed from.

Today our life is different. We have illegal aliens coming into our country who are refusing to assimilate and become part of our communities. They are refusing to speak English, demanding that we provide Spanish dialect speaking teachers. Abusing every welfare program that we have is intentional. Flipping their finger at the local cops who patrol their neighborhoods is a sign that they will continue to disobey our laws. Hit and run automobile accidents are so common today that our insurance rates have snowballed out of sight.

Somewhere along the line we were tricked. Yeah, I mean plain ole snookered into believing that what comes from the courtrooms or from Congress just has to be good for our beloved United States of America. We have the hardest damn time believing that another American would do something to intentionally hurt our beautiful country. The definition of "leader and/or leadership" was changed without any public discussion whatsoever.

First was President Nixon and his EPA's long discussions of biological diversity and the need to preserve native plants and animals . That makes sense if you enforce the plan with common sense. We weren't told that common sense would be prohibited from this idea. A multiple-species community doesn't mean what you and I think it does, but that's another subject.

Then out came the hyphenated heritage designations and secular flock titles, Irish-American, Chinese-American, French-American, Philippine-American, English-American,and Irish Catholics, American Jews, etc. This ticked off quite a few people because they had always considered themselves to be Americans first. Their great grandparents were the Irish, came from Ireland and when they were able to qualify for US citizenship, Americans. All descendants of them were just plain old Americans because they were born on America's soil. Many of these foreigners and first term Americans fought and died for America in the Wars. This was what brought our patriotism to the front porches of our homes and Main Street parades on July 4th. Secular divisions? What business is it of any political group what religion you are? As long as it isn't violent, stay out of that persons religious beliefs!

Bring forth the slow dilution and extinction of our Republic.

In the seventies and eighties, national origins, multiculturalism, and diversity became the key terms to the new political organizations and advocacy groups.

Electoral speeches all had to have the words "tolerance of diversity and cross-cultural effectiveness" to be considered acceptable. Politically acceptable speeches now were the only ones permitted to be broadcast on public radio and television stations.

Any subject deemed controversial was prohibited. You are subject to personal and financial discipline for mentioning anything that possibly stigmatizes or victimizes an individual on the basis of race or ethnicity.

Discriminatory admissions policies were used to buffer the mistermed diversity programs, actually separatist. If your heritage was from certain countries you would be admitted to the nations best colleges and universities using a point system. This commitment to ethnic freedom is even more insincere than a politician tromping about shaking hands for re-election votes.

The publicly stated basis of all of this was to cure discriminations of the past 150 years. Any group with self prejudicial beliefs of inferiority, mental or physical disabilities, poverty or lower education levels is eligible to apply for tax dollars free government funds available in dozens of entitlement programs. These politically controversial goals were a winner for the Democrats, so the Republicans decided to get in line with cash baskets of their own. They started promoting new programs, ignoring the past conservative moral traditions of "self responsibility". Today "self responsibility" is considered a fault in a persons character. You are viewed as a problem child who may not stand in line when told to do so.

With both major parties tossing tax dollars free government funds into the air for any all to reach out for, illegal immigration has once again became a national problem for the citizen who pays the bills. Police chiefs are afraid to publicly mention the actual numbers of illegal aliens in their jails fearing the numbers might prompt demonstrations. They have resorted to saying these costs are provided for with tax dollars federal government funds. (just a semi-lie) They keep forgetting to say "partially"! Then the profiling of criminals was outlawed to the detriment of many once reasonably safe cities. An officer must now justify, as if he were on the witness stand, every stop-and-question he undertakes of an illegal alien. There's no such requirement for a stop-and-question of white Americans.

Our current batch of sorry assed politicians in Congress and the Senate consider these entitlement programs woefully underinclusive, denying this giveaway franchise from their cohorts in local politics. So they keep pushing for larger pork barrels in the budgets. Governors are doing their best to keep up with the mad rush to give America away, demanding larger state budgets every term.

While giving speeches, being surrounded by parasites is considered an honor if you are a leader politician. Constitutional commitments to Oaths of Office are disregarded without fear of prosecution, shame or guilt now. Preaching the diversity lie appears to be a sure re-election tactic to the party leaders liars.

Have you ever heard of the word "essentialism" (n) -The practice of categorizing a group based on an artificial social construction that imparts an "essence" of that group, which homogenizes the group and effaces individuality and difference.

Was this part of "The United Nations Agenda 21 Plan"?

The illegal alien population in the United States today is more than twice the total of 1986. By using diversity and "essentialism" our political and judicial leader liars have once again separated America into racial and ethnic groups.

Was this part of "The Plan"? I think so. My reasoning for this is because under federal guidance we are looking at our neighbors and co-workers wondering if the grandparents or parents perhaps overstayed a visitors visa fifteen or twenty years ago. We are wondering if we can trust someone who speaks with an accent, could they be a criminal and just hasn't been arrested yet. Should we report our suspicians to the Border Patrol.

We have been intentionally divided in hyphenated heritage congregations and secular flocks. The reason for dividing us into small groups who quickly question the motives of all other groups is to make it difficult for us to join together and fight a common problem. Having ten small uncoordinated groups threatening you is much easier to deal with than having one large determined group, with a common purpose, surrounding your home or office.

Public resources are being spent on, confining, investigating crimes, injuries and deaths of illegal aliens. Hispanic and Latino political organization advocacy groups are demanding driving rights for themselves, criminal aliens. The security of your state drivers license identification has diminished because of nationwide counterfeiting and corrupt DMV employees.

Do not be surprised if Homeland Security says it cannot stop this from continuing and America must have a National Identification Card Program.

We are under attack by two predators, illegal aliens and ineffective and/or corrupt government officials.

How can government officials ignore the massive invasion of illegal immigrants. President Bush refuses to speak on the subject. According to a recent poll, 80+% of American citizens consider this to be a greater threat than terrorists to our national sovereignty and financial security.

Could this be a challenge to see if the once proud American citizens will actually fight for their own national sovereignty and financial security on American soil? Our troops don't have any difficulty fighting on foreign soil for the benefit of foreigners.

Mexico and 300 other nations send their lower class citizens to America for us to provide for their education, medical and income via jobs at the cost to American taxpayers and jobs.

The "Slide" has become a socialistic free fall.

The Republican Socialist Party has made many changes without informing it's membership under this president.

Our political leaders liars are refusing to:

Very good essay. Thre are a couple of points which I would challenge. Using "socialists' as synonymous with Republicans really is a misnomer and could create some confusion for less informed readers. While I understand the point you're making, with President Bush's record spending on pet Democrat programs, I prefer to keep the term "socialists" to describe the party with whose ideologies it is most in line.

Secondly, I understand the frustration with this president's approach to the illegal alien problem. I honestly do not believe that it is malicious on the part of the president though. I believe that, although he is a politician, he is a decent man who cares about America and wants to do the right thing, and given what he has been handed by history, I have to commend him for a job well done.

That said, President Bush has feet of clay and one of his clay feet is his apparent inability to recognize that our country is being invaded and the face of our nation is quickly becoming nearly unrecognizable to some of us. He doesn't seem to grasp the impact that the sheer volume of illegals will have on our economy, our infrastructure, our culture and even our freedom. I think he is equally blind to the underlying evil of Islam, his other clay foot. I pray that he would be enlightened and empowered to these weaknesses in his own vision.

We have no shortage of enemies, foreign or domestic and until we are able to effectively find them, expose them and neutralize them, we will live with apprehension for tomorrow in the shadow of growing oppression.

I agree with much of what you say, but I also have to say, that based on President Bush's own "Century of the Americas" initiative unveiled during the campaign just before his election (late summer of 2000), that he is into the immigration issue with eyes much more wide open than I am confortable with.

Read that speech he made in Florida and then read how the Council of Foreign Relations responded in full support of it. That speech leads to the very policies he is inacting now, at a time when the borders clearly should be tightened up dramatically...should have happened as a course of policy on 911 in the afternoon.

When I combine that with Campaign Finance Reform (we were led to believe that the Supreme Court would surely throw it out), his own stance on the AWB, certain provisions of the Patriot Act (while not being abused now, will give untold power to a liberal democrat one day), this atrocious Health bill that he supported and just signed, etc., etc., it gives me a very bad feeling.

I support his actions against Afghanistan and Iraq. I support his tax policies to date and his stand on abortion (though the acid test there will be his supreme court nominee when the time comes). President Bush and his admin are better than Gore could have ever been...particularly when considering 911, and better than Dean or any of the Democrat field by far.

But all of this other is offsetting what should otherwise be a very positive attitude towards this administration. Along with the things I am positive about, I see things being passed into law and signed that Bill Clinton NEVER would have gotten through Congress, and I believe that's the truth.

I pray that Bush...a man I believe has sincere faith...will be inspired and blessed to turn the course on these other things...but I know on the immigration issue, based on his own speeches, that it is more that he believes these things and is proceeding in a global manner by choice, than that he is just getting bad advise.

Best Fregards.

Excellent article. Illegal immigration is the greatest threat facing the US today. It impacts nearly everything that comes out of federal and state budgets, including health care, education, crime, and infrastructure costs.

We cannot go on as we are presently doing, either the borders are closed and the rule of law restored or we will go the way of Rome.

I wouldn't use the term "socialist" to apply to the Republican Party. I would use the term "not-quite-as-socialist". In my estimation, we live in a one-party system which masquerades as a two-party system.

Also, although I agree with virtually everything the CP wants to do, they are hamstrung by the religious dissension in their ranks. For example, in Illinois, the "Constitution Party" consists of a small group of anti-Catholic charismatic crusaders. They have excluded Catholics from any candidacy or party office. Though they've been officially dissassociated from the CP national, but the CP has not been able get enough people together to form an official Illinois CP affiliate.

The other problem with the CP are anti-third party laws on the Federal books, euphemistically called things like "Campaign Finance Reform". Both the Socialists and the Not-Quite-as-Socialists support these laws.

So, what do we do? We still support the growth and hopes of groups such as the CP. When possible, we vote for their candidates. But we never ... EVER ... allow the Dems to get control of the White House or Congress. The difference between the Socialists and the Not-quite-as-Socialists still represents a wide ideological gulf.

Example: If given a choice between President Bush (whom I admire, anyway, in spite of his failures on immigration), the Dem candidate, or a great candidate of the CP, I vote Bush. At this point in time, a vote for the CP candidate or any other third party candidate is merely a vote for the Dem by default.

One last observation: "Diversity" is not inherently good. Despite its philosophical problems (primarily with philosophical logic), its main problem is that it places the choice of what diversity is "good" into the hands of a few people. Look at your television set ... is all of the diversity you see beneficial to the life of the Republic?

A house diversified against itself cannot stand.

It used to be that we came together as Americans, from whatever culture or background we originated and that "coming together" strengthened us.

Now the political forces backing so called "diversity" (and I believe them to be patently un-American) are encouraging us to splinter ourselves which will make us weaker.

Thanks for the ping. Yours is a very good essay.

Prior to the passage of the Medicare Bill, I read articles on Medicare and immigration. It was a huge surprise to see the $1 billion for illegals in the Medicare bill. I have asked if anyone knew that this $1 billion was in the Medicare bill prior to passage. So far, no one has said they were aware of this.

For me, the passage of the Medicare Bill with the hidden S1 billion for illegals was Clinonesque. It is also my opinion that amnesty will be passed this way, behind our backs, a little at a time.

This year, I will be looking at all the options for the presidential elections. Thanks for posting the Constitution party info.

President Bush made me proud when he told France, Germany and Russia that if they wanted to sit on the fence re the attack on Iraq that they shouldn't expect to reap any contracts. As far as I know he's held through on his word, so he's not chicken.

However he has shown that he is a globalist and appears to be following the basic Agenda 21 Plan to 'level' the worlds assets. I am upset that he continues to support NAFTA.

He is protecting American international corporations far more than he is protecting American citizens.

A simple tariff system would balance our budget and reduce the need for higher taxes, which may not come under him but they will need to be raised sometime. This deficit is the reason why.

He appears to be following the Progressive Democrats (Communists) with the Patriot Acts. This is going to take a big bite out of everyones freedoms in days to come. Citizens should not be afraid of their government and the Patriot Acts are designed to be abused by judges and LEO's.

He hasn't done squat about protecting private property rights.

His administration is still full of Clinton supporters which I flat out do not understand.

My opinion towards foreign aid charity is if a person wants to give, that should be a personal decision. I see him strongly backing Senator Kennedy's ideas about the need for immigration which drives me crazy. He is allowing too many "refugees" into the US at a tremendous cost to American citizens in safety, overflowing of jails and prisons, dilution of welfare and education programs, sovereignty resolution and national patriotism.

He hasn't done a thing to change our educational system which is operating under NEA (UN) guidlines.

Until there was a nationwide hollering he didn't do a damn thing for military veterans.

This refusal to provide Congress with the paperwork that they are asking for only gives the average citizen reason to believe that he has something to hide.

I have no idea whether the republicans are trying to imitate the democrats because Clinton pulled two terms or what. It could be "favors" are owed or even a little blackmailing going on. My deepest suspicion has to do with cold hard cash. The RNC was bragging about how Bushs' re-election campaign funds are spilling out of the bucket. I don't recall how many millions he has available but theres quite a few. So, are corporations donating to the fund in order to get their names onto the Iraq contact list? Probably.

I wish he would remember where his office is....on American soil, protected by the US Constitution, Secret Service agents who are all American citizens and all patriotic American civilians.

I may be pissed at him but I sure wouldn't let an illegal alien take a shot at my President without knowing that his family tree will go up in flames.

"Redress of grievances and the ballot box are dead ends, so what are we going to do about it?"

If we keep heading in the direction we are, we'll end up with a UN 'approved' government and 'world' citizens in North America. Heritage will be stomped into the dirt, national patriotism will be a character fault replaced by subservience to a blue flag.

The courts have decreed that voting districts be drawn according to ethnic ties, so as not to dilute votes of minority communities.

Where did that come from?

The constitution is supposed to be an inpenitrable hedge around the federal government and the Bill of Rights enumerates some of our rights that they (the federal government) are not supposed to infringe on...any other's not listed remain with the states and with us.

But that's not stopping them. We have to.

JP, thanks for the ping. B4Ranch, thanks for a wonderful essay. I'm beginning to think something LindaSOG wrote on another thread (Re: CFR) is just too true...something about voters being too interested in the next Survivor episode to go out and vote...and those of us who can see this coming are going to get steamrolled because the majority of Americans don't have a flipping clue.
