If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I... And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight... Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair... bentfeather©

Darksheare,

Beautiful, just beautiful.
To: snippy_about_it
Ohhhhhh snippy, What a truely lovely poem. Thank you so much.
To: bentfeather
    Thanks!
The first line was all I had yesterday after having it almost completely composed.
And watched it all fly away.
I had it recomposed earlier, but that too flew away.
This is the third time it's been composed, and darn it, it's not going to fly away!

Boy do I know what you mean about stuff flying away.

I have lost more poems because of being dropped by the danged server. I have posted four times sometimes and it still gets lost!!

ARGH!!! Enough to make one want to pull out their hair.

Look for me in the morning
as the fog begins to lift
I'll dry all your tears
and try to make you smile
Please remember me always
'cause memories tend to shift
As long as the memory lives on
I'll be here all the while
Someday though it is true
you'll have to let me drift
Believe in me always
have faith like a child
Somehow we'll meet again
at the bridge across this rift
There I'll dry your tears
and try to make you smile

I've had stuff, fully composed, literally RUN from my head because I got sidetracked for less than a second.
While writing it down.

we poets have a tough time grabbing the lines.
To: Darksheare
Dang, Darksheare. That sounds like Barry White material. Good one.

Hi Snippy. I survived a horrible day during which everything I touched when wrong. I hope I don't break the keyboard. LOL

How are you?

Oh my, I'm glad you survived it and hope tomorrow is a better day for you. I'm doing fine, slipping in a little poetry now and then at bentfeather's place here when I'm not working on the Foxhole threads. ;)

different as night and day while
the same in so many ways
 i chased you down
 til you stopped running
 and there you stood
 steadfast against me
 though I longed for you
we could turn and walk away from each other
except we chose to walk hand in hand
 separate in desire
 yet together in friendship
no more battles except those we would choose together

Wow, wow!!

Snippy,

Your writing is strong, I love it. Don't stop writing girlfriend, you're good.
To: Samwise
So good to see you Samwise. Thanks for coming to the Lair.
To: bentfeather
Where's SAM's blushing face when you need it. LOL.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. The free form doesn't really take much extra thought, it's all right there in my head, I just type it out.

The haiku is much tougher and the other rhyming poetry is just impossible for me. I'm glad you showed me how free form writing could be poetry. Thank you feather.

You have the stuff it takes to be published.

Posting here is being published you know!!
However, there are many other places to publish in hardcopy.
To: bentfeather
You have the stuff it takes to be published. Now you are flattering me. LOL. If I could only make money on it I could get my cabin in the woods and write like crazy!!!
Looks like I better hunt down a publisher. ;)
Is there such a thing as rich poets? LOL.
