The Poetry Branch has been in limbo since the prior hostess left FreeRepublic April 15th 2003. We've since learned that said hostess has lost her posting privilege. That being the case, and Jim Robinson having given his ok, I wanted to renew the thread.

FreeRepublic is blessed with many fine poets, and we look forward to seeing their poems posted on FR once again. There were many non-poet FReepers who visited the Poetry Branch for the camaraderie; we hope they will return.

I would like to invite everyone to visit and relax at Poetry and Potpourri. Hopefully you will renew old acquaintances for chatting, sharing jokes, telling stories, posting cartoons, etc. Everyone needs a place to escape from the everyday news, make Poetry and Potpourri that place.

Hi SAber! I was just sitting here writing a poem about coties! LMAO! I mean, cooties! :) How are you doing today?

I tend to lead only when I have to and there's no-one else better qualified to do so.
But let someone tell me that I'm going to do something THEY told me to do without first telling me merits of it and rationally discussing it and I turn into a stubborn old man...

It'd almost be funny if such things didn't occur all the time.
But I don't have a reputation as a pushover, rather the opposite.
Those who knew me best often said that I am very odd in my dealings and that everything I do has some purpose to it.
Whether or not that purpose 'comes to fruition' anytime soon or not is irrelevant.
*chuckle*
I did take umbrage at one of my friends for comparing me to Machiavelli. (He was making light of me pitting two idiots against each other instead of fighting them myself. I had said, 'Why fight them when they can fight each other? Either way I win.')
I also said I was more of a Napoleon, since I'm short and probably won't conquer Russia either.

But, I do have to admit, between my sister and myself- my sis is the one with the big mouth and attitude.
She's such a.. a.. sister.

Hi, Tooters. I love the nic though it started quite by accident. They're beautiful little creatures, aren't they? Someone started calling me BillieBlue, always with a bluebird graphic, some time ago, and it sorta stuck!
