That's one of the main reasons I've kept doing this, Aqua. Through one specific soldier, we can make a personal connection that keeps the whole situation in Iraq very real.
Besides the fact that I'm pretty proud of him, in case you missed that! :o)

Being a parent is even tougher. If either my daughter or son choose to serve, a whole new set of emotions arise. God Bless the parents of our men and women in uniform.

I would be honored.
He would be the third Eric in my current family.
My youngest son's middle name is Eric. My grandson is named Erich.
Your Eric will be in our prayers each church service.

I sure can verify that being a parent is tough! There is a stress 24/7, a constant wondering where he is and what he's doing and how he's doing, a non-stop sorrow and loss, completely different from having kids away at school, and a totally NEW meaning to the words, "pray without ceasing."
It's just plain hard.

I can only imagine what it must be like. It's easier on him than it is on you. Prayer is the answer.

Thanks for remembering Eric's siblings too, Pippin.
It is REALLY difficult to have your little, or big brother so far away, and completely out of contact most of the time.
Our daughters and other son are suffering as well, but they are PROUD too!

Your account moved me deeply. Eric will be continually in my prayers.
BTW, tell him "Eagles and Egrets Up" from the Florida freeper gang.
What a good-lookin guy!. Hope to see him on our next freeper cruise. Then, all the sweet young things will want to sign up too, teehee.
Ah, too bad I'm 39 plus tax and tip, sigh.
