YES! This only illustrates the point that Americans are no longer tolerant of those that bash America!! This is awesome news! They can't just sneak back into our hearts, as much as they would like to.

Audience Boos Dixie Chicks at ACM Awards May 22, 7:05 AM EST
Many country music fans aren't ready to forgive the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines for comments critical of President Bush: Voters rejected the group's nominations for three Academy of Country Music Awards and the audience booed the mention of their name.
Presenter Vince Gill urged the audience at Wednesday night's show to "Stop it, stop it." He added: "You know who gets blessed when you forgive you."
Maines has been in the country music doghouse since she told a London audience on March 10, before the start of the war in Iraq, that "we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."
...
The Dixie Chicks were a late addition, performing by satellite from their hometown of Austin, Texas.
Maines sat silently as Emily Robison briefly introduced the song.
The boos erupted when Gill named the Dixie Chicks among nominees for entertainer of the year. Gill said afterward that the reaction was more subdued than at last month's Flameworthy Awards. "It was a pretty volatile crowd that time. This one wasn't so bad," he said.
It didn't seem that way to host Reba McEntire.
"It was a pretty big negative response. I don't think it's over," she said after the program.

The Ditzy Chicks can forget about their careers, as people will not forget Maines remarks and tepid apology.

Reba got her digs in as well. When she was introducing Penn and Teller, who were there to present one of the awards, she said something to the effect of: "Penn is the one with the big mouth who says whatever he wants no matter how outrageous. Teller is the one who keeps his mouth shut and never says anything. Guess which one is the new coach for the dixie chicks."

And then there's that FUTK t-shirt thing too, by while Fatty Nat decided to diss Toby Keith and all of his fans too. It's just another shark jumping moment in the old entertainment biz.

Brutal career mistake that girl made. Her remark was really vitriolic and personal. I believe she might have slid by with a more general statement desiring peace or some such thing, but she really went after the President. The fact that it occurred in Europe was really offensive, too. On home soil, a less personal attack might not have prompted this response.

The Dixie Chicks booed.
Hillary booed.
Bill booed.
Dannie Glover booed.
Tim Robbins booed.
Susan Sarandon booed.
Alex Baldwin booed.
And President Bartlett forced to turn over power to John Goodman.
Life is good.

As far as I'm concerned,Ms.Maines made TWO mistakes! The first was critcizing OUR PRESIDENT while we have combat ops in progress, and the second(and most egregious)was to have done this whilst on foreign soil!!

I think people decided that, since tickets were purchased before Natalie's remark, it wasn't worth trying to make a statement. The best statement we can make it to not buy another chicks record and to protest online as loud as we can. Any ideas on how to further the online action?

Bartlett will lose to the Goodman character but will no doubt be written off as losing the battle to MS. Can't wait for next season. This is going to be interesting.

You know what's really annoying, though: Natalie loves the fight. She will never let it drop because she loves the attention she's getting. It's all about her, don't you know?

Being on the Boo list is not being on a Black list.
Someone clue in the entertainment industry.

I saw her introduce them, but after she said "Teller keeps his mouth shut", I didn't hear anything about guess who coaches the Dixie Chicks. She either trailed off or I just didn't hear it. Weird.
