Wild stuff. Looked like it was coming from the other side of the river, probably the Iraqis.

Splinters flew. I don't think the camera was hit, but the (perhaps) wood pane and wall supporting it.

Just before the bomb drop or tank blast you saw the camera swing wildly than face upwards toward the side of the building. Then a cloud of smoke. Now the same shot of the tank on the bridge is up, so apparently the cameraman ducked for cover, and then reestablished his position.

Those were concrete chips from machine gun bullets hitting the wall at the edge of the building.
Some M1 gunners saw movement on that roof and put a stop to it.
Not a real smart place for the tv guys to be.

Saw it. Couldn't tell who was shooting. Obviously had a back up cam or camera man, one of the 2 went down for good.
To: Squantos
The camera was looking out from the top of the building at the M1A1s on the bridge when all of a sudden a bunch of concrete cuhunks flew up in front of it and then the camera when straight up at the sky and then fell over sideways.
Brian whatever his name is that is a beach boy name if I reember correctly on Fox News said, "Whoa, that doesn't look good"
Now we know for sure Sean Penn is still in Baghdad because he's taking shots at the press again.

Could have been both up there... since the Iraqi information ministry moved in with the reporters, anything is possible. Iraqi snipers can move in too.
On the other hand, an arab pointing a camera at you from a rooftop position looks just like an arab pointing a weapon at you from a rooftop position.
Moral of the story : don't point things at soldiers unless you ask first.
I think the dead reporter they're talking about who was linked to al Jazeera was one killed in the strike on Saddam, since they pulled him from the periphery of the rubble in a blanket. The al Jazeera office was near the restaurant-meeting room believed to have a high ranking iraqi visitor.
Just for the record, it seems the guy on the roof with the camera is someone else entirely, from Abu Dhabi tv instead of al Jazeera.

The saddam strike was on the other side of the river from the Jazerra office strike.
