Hi all, I just signed up for the Guild Thread. I'm happy to be on board!

About the Oscars, I flipped back and forth from Fox News to ABC just to check it out, and the only memorable moment I recall is Sir Sean Connery speaking over that big lace jabot at his neck. Talk about having a female sense of fashion!

I refuse to see "Chicago" after seeing director Rob Marshall wearing a peace button. None of my entertainment money will go to those Wholeyweird liberalpukes.

I don't know too many people who are going out to the movies these days. They're all saying, I don't want to support that leftist regime in LA.

Welcome, Ciexyz!

All you need to join the Guild is a good sense of humor and a devilled egg dish. And if you say something wicked about someone, you follow it with "Bless his heart!".

Sean Connery was one of the few stars I saw at the Oscars...my only disappointment was that he wasn't wearing a kilt! It's an understatement to say he looks good in one.

Julia Roberts...well...bless her heart.

Thanks, Timeout, for the welcome! I'm happy to join the party. I'm good for bringing the incidentals: cheeseballs and crackers and pop.

So, please pass the veggie tray this way!

Interesting words from Dick Morris:

Like a gyroscope he (George W. Bush) keeps his bearing, always rising above the coming horizon. He intuitively knows where he must lead like the needle of a compass shows us the north.

I don’t agree with very much of his domestic program. It is too limited and based on an assumption of governmental inactivity that I do not share. I think that Bill Clinton was the better president up to the water’s edge.

But, on the critical aspect of his presidency, the war on terror, he is right on and has always been. He keeps his political balance as he maintains his internal ballast. His clarity of vision rises above that of his predecessor and his grasp of the requirements of history is deeper and more thorough.

Clinton always lamented that he was not in office during a time of overwhelming national emergency. He once told me that you needed a war to rise to top ranks among presidents. Yet it is the bitter irony of his presidency that he had a war to fight, he just never realized it and never fought it.

Bush would be wasted in another era. His skills would not have been as finely developed as they have been under this challenge. We would never have truly known him. He likely would not have even come to know himself as well as he now has. full story

I found this on another thread:

Did any of you see Helen Thomas yesterday questioning if we're treating the POW's at Guatanamo according the Geneva Convention rules??? I WAS SOOO PISSED OFF...so I went ahead and actually emailed her this:

Ms. Thomas,
I watched the White House Press Briefing this morning and was intrigued by your inquiry about if the U.S. was abiding by the rules of the Geneva Convention as it regards to Guantanamo.

Since you were wondering if the U.S. treats the most vile enemies of our country humanely, I must point out the most obvious evidence: You get a front row seat at every Press Briefing.

LOL!

Thread Here

That's hilarious, although Helen's too far gone to comprehend it.

I missed what Ari said a couple of minutes ago about packages to the troops.

All I heard was that they were requesting sun screen, lip balm......... Did he say that they are still accepting packages from family members and loved ones?

I know that our packages are getting through. We have names and addresses of soldiers. We have never sent anything " To any soldier". There is always a note in the box that asks the soldier to distribute the items among the troops. All of the paperwork has my name and address, so it doesn't go anonymously.

I have been packaging boxes in the evening. We are sending out four boxes tomorrow ( I hope ). The Mardi Gras beads were sent to Kuwait yesterday. You know the Iraqi children will love them.

Ooooo, thanks so much for the dolphin info, very very cool.

I'd run across dolphin out in the surf from time to time and they're really big up close. I actually got to surf a wave with one one beautiful morning. It was perfectly still, the water was like glass, the sun was just coming up and as I was riding a wave I was admiring the sun shining through the face of the wave. I saw something dark right behind me in the wave, I turned and looked and almost fell off my board at the sight of a dolphin.

They always have that little smile and it looked as though he/she was really enjoying him/herself. I know I was!

I'll give Dick this much, at least he's honest with his opinions.

The best part is the clintoons know Dick's right and it surely gives them heartburn.

You should just go ahead and change that to:

It will be deleted on a whim.

Why waste time on possibilities when we know it's gonna happen, unless of course it's in the cheese hole.
