Can any of the Drudgies who jumped my case about my saying Drudge is self-hype...Why did Drudge plaster his website with Oprah and her show today then yank it??
This isn't the first time he has tryed this ploy, It's an old Drudge tactic

I just want to get this out of the way now, so there is no misunderstanding, I am ignoring this thread.

>>>This seems series to me.<<<
Yes, very series indeed. I am concerned, perhaps even dismayed.

Drudge gets 100 million page views a month... Yes, and probably 95 million of those are because he's got the page set so that it autofreshes every couple of minutes. Hell, leave your browser set on his page when you go to bed, and you'll wake up having given him several hundred hits. Also, another little trick of his is to post a "link" to a "hot story" that, upon clicking, just refreshes his front page.
Drudge is harmless. But his flowery self-aggrandizing about being a "journalist" is laughable.

I like the site. It is fast and has great links without any popup nonsense or glitzy distracting crap. I like the mix of pop and serious content in his headlines. If you don't like it don't go there.

Anyone know why the keep pulling the threads on the House of Commons Vote. It has been pulled twice now!!!
To: Burkeman1
If you don't like it don't go there. How about this tack instead: "If you don't like it, complain about it." Anything wrong with that approach?

Has anyone catalogued the actual list of serious Drudge errors in which he stated things as fact (not rumor)?
Please list them here or link to the list (with substantial short explanations as to waht he said, what the "truth is, and how we know Drudge was wrong and the other source is correct).
I like Drudge but also want to know how reliable he is.
BTW, doncha think folks understand well by now that much of Drudge is floating rumors to see if they are true (rather than manufacturing fake and biased facts like Dan Rather)?

I like the Drudge site. They guy breaks news. The set of links is really rich too.
I too have noticed the frequency of Washington Post links. Get a good pop up stopper and have at it. Sometimes the WP has a unique angle on things or better government/military contacts.
Speed counts in the news biz. Drudge does move quickly. Up close to the net, separating facts from rumors has got to be tough. If it has the potential to move financial markets I'd rather have access to it vs having someone sitting on the story trying to get confirmation.
So, I hope he keeps Druging.

Thanks to Drudge I found FreeRepublic. He's now up to 8 million hits a day. Wow

Drudge has taken the link to FR down on his site! I'm sure he considers us competition, but in the end, we are all in the same fight here. Email him and ask to put the FR link back up. The main page of Free Republic links to him, and hundreds of his articles are posted every week on our forums, giving him thousands of visitors. We send him thousands of hits, and he happy to send a few back to us.
Email
drudge@drudgereport.com and ask him to put the FR link back on his site. He knows the power of the Freepers and he won't want to get on our bad side ;) My email is sent...I hope everyone else drops him one as well.
