Dixie Chicks Latest Apology (Waffles Like A Belgium)
03/14/2003

Posted on 03/14/2003 4:25:21 PM PST by Licensed-To-Carry

Statement from Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks March 14, 2003

"As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect. We are currently in Europe and witnessing a huge anti-American sentiment as a result of the perceived rush to war. While war may remain a viable option, as a mother, I just want to see every possible alternative exhausted before children and American soldiers' lives are lost. I love my country. I am a proud American."

Perhaps we are being a bit too harsh on the young and porcine Ms. Mains. After all, she is the product of an age where words don’t have much meaning.
Rape means waking up the next day and deciding it was a bad idea to say yes yesterday.
A racist is anyone who doesn’t fully support affirmative action.
Oral sex is not sex.
Heck, we’re not even sure what the definition of is is.
She just tossed a throw away line to pander to the foreign crowd, didn’t she. It didn’t really mean anything.
Shucks! You fellers is mean.

That's the perfect analogy I was searching for a few minutes ago. No going back, now.

Whoops! Shoulda previewed. Lemme try that again:

"We are currently in Europe and witnessing a huge anti-American sentiment as a result of the perceived rush to war.

Rush, hell. Still using the buzzwords of the commies, huh? How many years has this been building? Since she was in diapers, no less. The next apology will contain the word, 'unilateral,' no doubt.

How do the other two feel about this? I would love to know. They started without her, and I'd love to seem them fire her ass. (assuming they don't agree)

I like the Dixie Chicks music. I was particularly impressed with their performance of the National Anthem at the Superbowl; so much so that I bought another of their CDs.

Because of their performance at the Super Bowl, I bought all three of their albums and a pair of tickets for their concert. If she made these comments about a month earlier, I would have saved myself about $250.

I just want to say that I was a big Dixie Chicks fan until this. So without further ado (I hadn't written a parody in years):

Goodbye Girls
(parody of Goodbye Earl)

Natalie Maines was a big mouthed broad
Set in her backwoods ways,
Not a big fan of Toby Keith,
Not a big fan of Jenny Craig.
After failed tryouts her dad went out,
Told her to give country a whirl.
Nat went out and met Martie and Em,
and they became the Dixie girls.

Well it wasn't 3 albums
After they joined up
Natty started shooting her mouth,
She joined Lillith fair, dissed Toby's hair
And started alienating the South.
Well, she finally went on tour in the good ol' U.K.,
And started badmouthing Bush,
But the good ol' boys caught wind of her trash
And her career began to flush.

Right away their PR firm called in from England
said "Bush ignores every one"
They said speech is a right,
and there's no need to fight,
But it appeared the damage was done,
Those girls better run...

na-na-na-na-na
Goodbye Girls
Those three CDs
na-na-na-na-na
They make good frisbees, girrrrrrrrls
You're feeling bad?
na-na-na-na-na
Why don't you take it to Iraq girrrrrrrls
Ain't it dark
na-na-na-na-na
At the bottom of the charts girrrrrrrrls

Nattie wrote back to cry some more
She told the Pres she was sorr-ay
Then she played the "mother" card,
claimed Europe was jarred,
and said "I lub the USA"
Well, the weeks went by and
spring turned to summer
and summer faded into fall.
And it turned out the Chicks were a missing group
who nobody missed at all.

So the girls lost their cash
When Sony got mad and they were soon broke,
They got America annoyed, and were soon unemployed
And all because the big one spoke

Girls, say goodbye

na-na-na-na-na
Goodbye Girls
The Dixie Chicks... (break in the song)
Working at Hotel 6, girrrrrrrls
Without a trace,
na-na-na-na-na
Shedaisy's taking your place, girrrrrrrls
Ain't that weak?
na-na-na-na-na
Good! Think before you speak, girrrrrrrls
Hey!
na-na-na-na-na

Sounds like the other 2 sisters were going to fire her butt...

Nope. It's their managers. The other two are just as dumb.

Today "the music
is sold by the lawyers
And the fools who fiddled in the middle of the station are gone."

"When you smell the smoke and the cinders
Slick your hair back
Open up your case
Play Cherokee fiddle
Play it for the whiskey, boys
That ol' whiskey never let you lose your place

"Cherokee Fiddle" Johnny Lee - Michael Martin Murphy

I was in europe and saw the anti war sentiment. From greenpeace, communist party university students handing out signature petitions, and people genuily worried about a war and what it might mean to their ability to put food on the table.

I did not waver in my support for my country. I actually felt good that my country was protecting itself so I had a place to come home to.

This appology is about protecting record sales nothing more or less. (just put all their cd on a napster successor, that will fix their ecconomic viability)

they sold 500,000 tix at 30 dollars a pop that's $15 million.

some of that cash is gonna have to go to charity to TRY to mend fences.

yeah, float that over at their website.

you know she doesn't give a $%#@ about the soldiers.
she is the typical narcissistic liberal hack.

the thing that pisses so many of us off is that we didn't expect this from her.

janeane garofalo-- she has liberal in her DNA.

martin sheen-- duh!!

but natalie maines never struck me as a liberal jerk, boy was i wrong!

country ain't called country for nuthin! when you sing country you are held to a higher standard.

the betrayal factor has really blown this thing wide open.

also, we have been getting hit from these celebrities and their bile every other day--we reached our limit.

the people that buy her records live in states with military bases and high levels of patriotism, never has a person knew less about her base.

what did she think manhattan and malibu put her on the map?

the base has spoken and she has been voted off our dials.

How in the hell could Euros think a Saddam in power will help their ability to put food on the table?

Lower oil prices will be the first result, which will help them.

As I said on a pulled thread, the backlash will be so severe that in several months the Blixie Chicks will be lucky to open for Great White in a small foreign bar.

RIGHT ON THE MONEY ..... btw .... what part of Outer Mongolia will they be playing in ? Ulan Baator seems a little too upscale for them.

Very true. Betrayal vs. typical liberal ignorance, which we've come to expect. The DixChix have really PO'd a lot of people. Glad to see it since we've all been biding our time, biting our tongue, waiting for Saddam, Chirac, the UN to be exposed as shills. We're PISSED!

"I am a proud American"

Well America is not proud of you.

If you can get some gigs in Saudi Arabia or Bangla Desh, take 'em; don't negotiate. Don't bother to come back to America.
