BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."
Way to go B.B!

I saw Riders in the Sky perform at a small venue in Chapel Hill a little over 20 years ago--they were great!

They probably figure their sales are in the tank enough without alienating more people.
Any thoughts from anyone on why there were virtually no war protests?
1. CBS laid the law down to them 2. The Grammy brass laid the law down 3. They themselves wisely chose to not politicize the event
Anyone?

Just now watching on the West Coast, so far it is just pretty good music occasionally interrupted by a really drunk Dustin Hoffman.
This thing with the singers introducing each other without clumsy MC's is cool. James Taylor is on now.... He's always good. And sings some of the songs that make me cry.

#2 Pretty much like Drudge indicated.
The Grammy execs personally called the big stars like Sheryl Crow and had 'a talk' about non-verbal protests only.

What are you talking about? She didn't look too good, but her voice was gorgeous.

The adults in the business are seeing the backlash over the french..but the music industry is already on weak legs. Now, will the Adults in the Movie business get the picture?

This is a real washout for the anti war folks-'sounds of silence' indeed!

How can people here make fun of these extremely intelligent, highly-educated, caring artists? Because they have sold lots of cds and are wealthier than the average dumb man...I mean person...on the street they KNOW what is best for the United States. They have pondered what is best for the average Americans for hours, as they have ridden in their limos. Doing cocaine also enhances their thinking power so they get a better perspective on what is best for the world. No one has asked Michael Jackson, but I bet his extensive experience in handling young people has also helped him conclude that war is bad and peace is good. Cocaine, excess alcohol, unlimited sex (with those of any sex and age) gives you a better perspective on what the average person REALLY wants and what is best for America. Can't you folks SEE this???? Richard Gere learned a lot one day from a gerbil..

I always enjoyed this lyric of theirs:
When they kick in your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head?
Or the trigger of your gun?
Oh, you can kick us!
Use us!
Totally Abuse us!
But Ohhhhh, the Guns of Brixton.
Thats the kind of 'Power to the People' stuff I like--pure second ammendment....

Big pre-Load Metallica and Disturbed fan here as well. The singer for Disturbed is one of the best I've heard in some time. Do you like Tool?

I don't understand what you're talking about with Faith Hill. I thought she was great.

During one song (give me a minute, and I'll remember it), he placed VERY strong emphasis on telling the truth, and teaching your children about it. The audience went nuts. It was right after some especially egregious Clinton truth-mangling. I'm just blanking on it right now.
I have heard about his librulness, but it is heartening to hear that Clinton is too much for him.
