They probably figure their sales are in the tank enough without alienating more people.

Any thoughts from anyone on why there were virtually no war protests?

1. CBS laid the law down to them 2. The Grammy brass laid the law down 3. They themselves wisely chose to not politicize the event

Anyone?

The Grammy execs personally called the big stars like Sheryl Crow and had 'a talk' about non-verbal protests only.

I think CBS and the Grammy people laid down the law. Drudge said that CBS said they would turn off the microphones if it became political. And I noticed that Dustin Hoffman said that there were no sponsers bu that the Grammys tonight were "brought to you by the people of New York". If I had lost a family member I would have been screaming mad if it became a huge anti-war thing.

Also, I think that shows like this should provide equal time to the other side when these jerks get up and protest to an audience of zillions.
