BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."
Way to go B.B!

What's the story on the Dead Prez shirt on the girl with BB King?

Great job with the pics and the captions!

There is nothing more beautiful than Texas wildflowers -- I actually planted some bluebonnets when I lived there and last time I was in Dallas bought some seeds for bluebonnets to plant here in Norman. Drive down every year just to see all the wildflowers especially at the heighth of bluebonnet season.

Got it. I'll have to look for him.

Oh, yeah. Till Tuesday. I forgot to add the Till Tuesday/Rick Springfield concert to my list. Two memories of that concert: trying to figure out if TT's guitarist was male or female, and enjoying the heck out of being one of the few men in an arena filled with 10,000 women to see Rick! When you're 21, you'll take estrogen any way you can get it...

The Grammies always get the hard rock category wrong.I remember a few years back when they gave the Grammy to Jethro Tull for best "Hard Rock". The next year Metallica won and thanked Jethro for not putting out an album that year. How can they put Jethro Tull in the same catagory as Metallica. Beats me.

Apparently, she can't read.

Dead PRez is a band that is trendy right now.

You know, it really outrages me... the fact that these peacenik commies are so spineless that they only make their anti-American comments for the media when they're in Europe and we can't get at them.

Well I feel obligated to mention my recent concerts:
Jimmy Buffett at Philips Arena, February 1st, the day the Columbia burned up. A good escape from a crappy day.
Ibrahim Ferrar of Buena Vista Social Club fame, Woodruff Arts Center (Atlanta Symphony Hall), February 16th. I think Ibrahim is a idol worshiping commie (see the BVSC film), but the music was great. I never thought the crowd would rock in a symphony hall.

Just took a tour of Graceland last weekend - awesome use of time.

The best 9-11 song written, it's about the Heroes of 9-11, the Firefighters and Rescue Workers.
Can't see nothin' in front of me
Can't see nothin' coming up behind
I make my way through this darkness
I can't feel nothing but this chain that binds me
Lost track of how far I've gone
How far I've gone, how high I've climbed
On my back's a sixty pound stone
On my shoulder a half mile line
Come on up for the rising
Com on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight
Left the house this morning
Bells ringing filled the air
Wearin' the cross of my calling
On wheels of fire I come rollin' down here
Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight
Li,li, li,li,li,li, li,li,li
Spirits above and behind me
Faces gone, black eyes burnin' bright
May their precious blood forever bind me
Lord as I stand before your fiery light
Li,li, li,li,li,li, li,li,li
I see you Mary in the garden
In the garden of a thousand sighs
There's holy pictures of our children
Dancin' in a sky filled with light
May I feel your arms around me
May I feel your blood mix with mine
A dream of life comes to me
Like a catfish dancin' on the end of the line
Sky of blackness and sorrow ( a dream of life)
Sky of love, sky of tears (a dream of life)
Sky of glory and sadness ( a dream of life)
Sky of mercy, sky of fear ( a dream of life)
Sky of memory and shadow ( a dream of life)
Your burnin' wind fills my arms tonight
Sky of longing and emptiness (a dream of life)
Sky of fullness, sky of blessed life ( a dream of life)
Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight
Li,li, li,li,li,li, li,li,li

An musical artist thinking they have an important role to play in the political arena is about as ridiculous as a politician showing off his prowess with a musical instrument... thank goodness we don't have any politicians idiotic enough to do THAT :-) umm... Condi Rice is a pretty damn good musician
Ermmm...she's a an amateur, a decent one, but there's a rather large gulf between someone like that and a professional.
The ultimate embarassment in this regard was, sadly William F. Buckley, who toured the country performing a Bach concerto in what is one of the biggest jokes in the history of recorded music. He probably turned a whole generation of pianists into liberals single-handedly. After one performance of his the conductor gave the concertmaster a purple heart.
