Yep -3 and 3 is way substandard, although if we received more than that amount of snow in CenTex our gooses (geeses) would be cooked for sure.
Cheers all. ;-)

It will melt .. it always does

Maureen -
1) Our homes are not constructed to deal with it.
2) Our roads are not constructed to deal with it.
3) What mass transit we have is not constructed to deal with it.
4) And the main reason that we dread it - our pinhead drivers are not constructed to deal with it.
In other words, we suck in bad weather. Big time.

In other words, we suck in bad weather. Big time I've noticed .. LOL It's snow .. it will melt .. especially in Texas
Got a heater .. turn it on
When driving .. drive slow and steady and NEVER slam on the brake .. as long as you're not stuck on a hill you'll be fine
In other words .. slow down and also the day it snows .. stay home

Well the sun is shining here!! We can't believe it.! We are gonna pay for this sooner or later. This is an orchard area and the water restrictions are gonna be brutal. No spring run off = no water. Also, the trees and grape vines may just start budding and then we'll get a sudden freeze. That will be curtains for the growers for this year. My plants are starting to sprout out of the ground???? It's totally bizarre.

Is it normally legal to park on corners when there is not a snow emergency? I see that you have never been to Philly

If I still lived in North Carolina, winter would have ended last weekend. Here in Cincinnati, we are now entering phase II.

I realized parking was tight, but on corners?

Parts of Philly, the streets are so narrow that only one car can fit on the street .. many times you'll see the cars parked half way in the sidewalk just so there is room for other cars to pass down the street.
And since there are some pretty big hills in Philly .. most folks will park their cars at the top of the hill so they can get out because the city NEVER plows those roads.
Out of the 24 years I lived at my mothers, I can count on one hand how many times that street was plowed
if you go to "
VIDEO: John Rawlins reports from Roxborough and Manayunk" on that link I gave .. that is my old stumping grounds .. and there are some huge hills in Manayunk
One time I watched a coke a cola truck try to get up the hill and never made it .. it slid back down the hill and took about 5 cars with it ..
Was not a pretty picture

This is my first winter "up North" since 1986, and I forgot what a joy it is.
